FROM, How in the hell did you make Sorcery worse than DS3?
I'm at a loss for words on how FROM made Sorcery way worse than DS3. There are so many terrible abilities in both PvE and PvP. At least the spells that were bad at PvE were actually good at PvP, but not in Elden Ring. Like why the hell did you put the spells in the game if they are that terrible?

Almost everyone I talked to thought DS3 sorceries were bad, so I think many of us, especially with all the advertising of sorceries that it would actually be properly fleshed out and balanced. The majority of the sorceries are so bad it's like devs didn't even bother testing the spells before they put them in the game. Also, double OOF on the magic greatsword, not only did you ruin its swing but I grew a beard waiting for it to swing.

The sorcery experience hasn't been bad, but it's infuriating that majority of the spells that could be really awesome, are just downright terrible in every scenario. I could have spent those souls on leveling up, but were wasted by non-existent balance.

DS3 sorceries were great. Sounds like you just don't know when or how to use them, in either game which is impressive.
Also you realize this is a different game right? Sorceries have never stayed the same between games.
completely agree. so far all the spells are WORSE by a long shot than the basic bolt you start with. also till you get the the second area you dont even find other staffs. si im forced to spend upgrade stuff on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ weak staff.

Something was wrong with your build then. I was in NG+4 still destroying people in pvp with magic sword & greatsword and other spells.

Definitely going to have to learn to love Glintstone Pebble if you want to use magic. I was level 40 and the 9th spell I learned until I found the first spell that even had a chance to compete with Pebble. It's almost melee range and not cost effective.

I've been having a really bad time as a sorcerer lol. Still using pebble and glintblade at level 40 because all the other spells suck. Tempted to say ♥♥♥♥ it and re-roll. Feels like I'm at least 20 levels too low in Caelid (maybe I am).

Read my post, I agree with DS3 spells being decent, but even then it was wildly accepted that melee builds were vastly superior.

Stop talking out of your ass, please. Sorcery was perfectly viable in all prior Souls games.

Either make it viable or ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ don't put it in the game in the first place.

I dont know what OP is talking about. I have dabbled is sorcs, and they are freaking powerful as all hell. I do think that faith might be the magic build though, so many neat toys there I cant use. Only issue I see with them are how far you have to travel/explore to find the pope turtle and a damn dex/int sword, but then its not that bad.

I see you didn't actually read my post. The problem I'm complaining about is how majority of the spells are complete and utter trash in PvE and PvE, not that Sorcery as a whole is week. The two starter skills are very good, but its a bit boring to use the same spells over and over.

This is the issue. ^^^

It's not that Sorcery sucks in ER, its that there is a sever lack of diversity that is actually effective.
