Your VPN may prevent you from going online

Since day one, I couldn't connect to the servers and had to play offline. I use Astrill VPN, but didn't turn it on for gaming. I tried to connect multiple times and after the 5th or so time, the game would just crash.

After doing everything I could think of, I had a theory and completely uninstalled my VPN. I restarted my computer, booted up Elden Ring and the game logged in immediately. I don't know if this theory is correct, but I think Elden Ring's Anti-Cheat program didn't like my VPN. I don't know if this problem is unique to Astrill users or if other VPNs have this problem as well.

If you haven't been able to connect and you also use a VPN, try uninstalling it and see if it works after that.

I'm playing offline but when I launched the game the 1st time I got connected no problem.
