Nah i am seeing people do way more damage with other weapons early on then the ones i have. Want better, or will just play something else.
Why cant people what weapons are best to start with? lol Clearly watching people do way more damage to enemies with some weapons, but dont know where they are. Guess ill google, but games is new so doubt there is much about it yet.
This article explains it a bit more in depth.[www.gamesradar.com] Basically, all weapons can be usable, but only if you're equipping ones that are boosting the stats you're actually leveling up.
i was hitting 3-4 attacks to kill a trash mob after upgrading to +5 (didn't change anything less neither leveled up) and i was 1-2 shots killing them weapons upgrade to +25 i was told in this game the standard weapons does basic damage so pick the weapon you like to use the most then UPGRADE
Honestly, big armor + big shield + big weapon is just objectively better in Elden Ring than light armor + light weapon + no shield/small shield for PVE, and probably PVP too.
The difference between medium equip load and light is so little of a difference, that there's just zero reason to run light equip load in this game.
And i get it to +4 now.
I totally understand why you feel the weapon isn't doing much dmg, probably because your weapon is not upgraded and you are fighting some hard boss/enemy. Probably better to explore other areas and get the weapon upgraded before fighting boss/enemy that you feel you do no dmg to.
"I like to take hits and rush in with a big sword" - Vagabond if you want to use bows, Hero if you just want to swing a big ol sword
"I want to use magic!" - Confessor. If you're feeling a little more brave, try Astrologer but they're a literal glass cannon out the gate.
"I wanna be stealthy/use range" - Samurai if you wanna use melee, Prisoner if you wanna use magic.
On the back of one of the carts the giants are pulling is a chest with a Greataxe. It doesn't have great reach, but it's a phenomenal weapon to use for punishing with guard counters for stance breaks and going for the finisher. Also the leap R2 attacks with heavy weapons do a lot damage, and break stances, between doing leaping R2s, and guard counters, you'll be stance breaking stuff frequently, even bosses.
hhhhh how about you say instead of GET GOOD WITH IT maybe like try get better with it and learn to master it instead of GIT GUD words
Longsword for example starts with D scaling in both strength and dex and gains added damage based on the levels invested in them.
The enchantments that can be added to the weapons can drastically alter the scaling too, making a weapon viable for other builds.
