Super slow camera with mouse and keyboard
Okay so i know there was apparently an issue with it being to fast before but i just started playing and even with camera speed set to max, and mouse sensitivity set to max along with my windows mouse speed being max cause that's just how i operate. Even with all of that i literally can not turn the camera 180 degrees without lifting and repositioning the mouse. Like most games you want to to where a simple swipe left or right will eventually do 360 but i can't even do 180 and it makes the game completely unplayable for me unless i wanna break down and use a controller which i hate doing cause it just doesn't feel right to me.

Yeah this has been a problem since the first patch. I really wish they would fix this as it makes it really hard to enjoy and play, but I'm getting the feeling they don't intend to do anything about it. :/

From is in a tough spot with this - too much mouse sensitivity and people switch targets too much. Or too little, as in your case, and it takes too long to move the camera around.

Basically not separating mouse look from target switching is the main issue

The game is designed to not need camera micromanagement - the camera adjusting itself aggressively is part of this, that allows you to change heading of your character, and have the camera adjust without having to hit the stick, since it's made for controllers.

I'm not trying to argue the merits of doing things this way - just observations on decisions From made.

While I would say that you don't really ever need to move the camera that fast in Elden Ring, if it doesn't feel right when you play that's annoying - I guess it's a question if it's more annoying that just playing with a controller.

There are two menu options:

The Camera sensitivity in the Camera menu;
And the Mouse Sensitivity under the Controls menu.

By using these two settings you can fine tune it to better suit your preference.
Mine's feeling great, smooth and responsive.

I never had a problem with this in Dark Souls 3, and the mouse sensitivity was perfect in that and I never had issues changing targets.

Yes, those who are having problems are aware of that. The issue is even at max settings, it's still way too slow since the patch "fixed" it for those who felt it was too fast.

Did you ever figure it out?

It was a bug. It was fixed like a year and a half ago.

I still have the bug and cannot fix it

This is a problem I'm noticing in virtually all recent games from japanese studios. Elden Ring, Metaphor, Dragons dogma 2. I don't know what the problem is, but maxing camera speed and mouse sensitivity with dpi at 3200 makes little difference. It's also hard to adjust back to a game with a normal camera afterwards. Whatever it is, it's the reason I haven't played a lot of recent games from studios I love. I want this issue dealt with. Lifting the mouse is not enjoyable and these are the only games I have this issue with. Games from western devs, China and Korea don't experience this.
