Dropped +7 weapon (spear), but I was +0

This happened when I killed Patches (npc-enemy) in the cave. What will happen to pvp now? Am I +0 or +7? Now I play with this spear +7 (damage is much higher). At the same time, I still have never increased the level of weapons (+0).

There is a similar case in Dark Souls 3 where you can pick up a +1 shield in PvE even though the current weapon level is +0. This shield is near Eygon of Carim in a pit.
