I found a Twinblade. I thought it was underwhelming at first, but changed my mind.

Tested against some regular enemies. The Twinblade feels kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Very underwhelming at best. I could just be using it wrong, but their attacks feel like they leave you open for a very long time and the first hit only does like 20 damage. I can get 3 hits in with the Uchigatana, dealing 3x the damage and much safer, before I finish one attack with the Twinblade.

Edit: I've used it for a few more hours now and it feels a bit better than it did. The moveset just takes a bit of getting used to, as well as its range.

Edit 2: I found an Ashes of War that adds bleed. Makes the Twinblade very fun. I don't have it upgraded on this character and don't have Arcane, so I'll have to test it further.

It absolutely decimates everything, it's my number 1 weapon and nothing else except maybe claws compares DPS wise, but it has the second blade which often ends up hitting multiple enemies.

Edit: Doesn't the first hit only do like 20 damage? It's the second hit that actually does the work for me.

How did you deal with the murder birds? I found that I could only get the first hit in with it, resulting in me chipping away at them for 20 damage per hit, if I could even land a hit at all.

I love the Twinblade. I assume ( someone correct me ) it is a good dex weapon.

Also I guess there is another Twinblade with good Dex scaling later called God Skin Peeler. I want that too.

Sounds like it would have bleed damage. I can see it being good with bleed.

you need to explore encampments and find stairs that lead down to little dungeons that have chests that usually store weapons. I have a ton of weapons from exploring, but not the stats to use them...

I feel the moveset is too clunky. It's slow and locks you into the animation. It also has very little reach. It doesn't even do more damage than other weapons. Uchigatana is fast, has reach, damage, bleed. It has an amazing weapon art.

im using it. I have it at +3 with the bleed ashes of war. Its dope. As too not finding any weapons. I found plenty. I just cant find any new robes for my Astro. Just medium chainmail from Godricks guards.

Yeah, I was surprised as a Sharp Sellsword Twinblades evangelist in D3 how it's so similar but so much less effective in Elden Ring, but in a way also kind of thrilled that I can't just used my same old build strategy and expect the same result. (Now that said, Sellsword Twinblades without upgrading was next to useless in D3 as well, and I haven't gotten to try it fulling upgrade at DEX cap in Elden Ring yet... so... That a straight seems the most effective out of the gate was also true of DS3).

I have the base Uchigatana and find it feels strong.
Twinblade moveset is what really feels lacking. It's extremely slow.
