Xbox Controller Right Analog Drift?
My camera on the right joystick keeps drifting to the sky and its not the controller... Is there a controller bug I'm not aware of?

I plugged in a PS5 controller and now have no issues at all...

still having this issue since launch. did we ever decide if this is a bug? doesn't seem to happen on any other games that I can tell. Xbox controller here too

Check if Steam Input made your gamepad into mouse emulation mode on some of your sticks. Sometimes it causes this drift

using an Xbox Series Elite Controller (2 or 3 cant remember), no drift of any kind

drift is caused by having other controller type things plugged in like steering wheels or joysticks, disable all controller configuration support in steam big picture as xbox and playstation controllers are natively picked up by the game.(unplug or use hidhide software to disable all but the one controller you wish to use) if that doesnt work you can go into steam big picture to increase the deadzone of your analog sticks. if u need a step by step guide for that let me know

I don't have have drift, but occasionally, like maybe twice an hour at most, I'll have a phantom input, like if I dodge, my character without me touching anything but the analog stick will dodge again. Using the Xbox Elite 2 Controller, and also happens with my PS4 controller. Might just be my PC, idk.

sounds like double input issue, read post above :) to set it up right (tldr disable the controller configuration support in big picture for everything)

No, that's a physical issue with your controller. Happens.

Figured I'd reply since I was able to find out what was going on.

Went to update my dead zones in steam big picture mode and the right thumbstick is legitimately wiped out. If I tap it just a little bit it flies straight to the top.

So controller ended up being bad, which is insane since it's an xbone controller I bought in october (like 6 months ago). What a piece of trash.

they dont make em like they used too :/

I have had a few Xbox Pro Controllers, over the last few years, and when they all break within a year of purchase i grab my classic 360 controller, which has seen so much use the sticks are starting to fall to bits, but every button and stick is aligned perfectly and works great xD

I fixed the issue by just using a PS5 controller, Having said that the xbox series x controller I was using that gave me the issue doesn't drift upwards on any other game accept Elden Ring... Very odd..

ah that sucks, idk if possible on xbox controller, but on ps4 u can lift the analog stick a little and then blow really hard in it (or use compressed air) i had some weird behavior last week where if i gently moved it to the right, the readings would shoot to the left instead. but after giving it a good blow (giggety) it fixed it. could be just dust or cheetos crumbs in there

It's half the games fault half xbox's joystick fault

1, basically no deadzone on right stick

2. xbox has cheaped out on potentiometer's since the xbox 360

if you search gamepad tester (website) try flicking the stick a few times, you'll probably see it flick back up at some point which is the drift you are experiencing,

it's probably just a strand of hair or some dust, id suggest compressed air or cleaning out with isopropyl
