micro stutter - fix
so I researched and someone said that if you take those steps, it will eliminate most of the stutter, not 100%

Device Manager -> View -> Device by Connection
right click on "Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator"
Disable it..

Restart the computer.. play without constant stutter.

THis sounds good, but didn't work for me - can someone try and tell me if it helped them? if so.. I might have to dig deeper for my rig.

works to a certain extent for me. Game run's smoother now, stuttering still persists but is way less :praisesun:

People should be carefull with how and when they disable stuff as it's all to easy to come to a wrong conclusion, such as "I did this that a random stranger on the internet told me, now the game works a little bit better", when it might as well have been some random chance that the game did perform better that particular launch.

In this case, it's fine if you do not use MIDI stuff or old serial ports and no harm will come to your system.

I agree, but I didnt just change settings without looking it up. copy/pasta:

"Furthermore, the Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator does exactly as it says. When a device has to install drivers or software it may use a "Rooted" piece of software - the Enumerator assigns a value. Think like the old library look-up system with the paper cards and the dewey decimals.

So - you install a device like a MIDI keyboard so you can do some sick drops. This device may require the software to start immediately on boot-up. Without the Root Enumerator doing its portion you may experience certain portions of your equipment "malfunctioning". So you may blame the PC or heck even the manufacturer of the device for it being "broken", but hey you're a DJ, gotta get the foam flowing right at the apex of the song right? That 1/1000 of a second means the world."

but anti cheat... is kind of important.. it reached a point with darksouls3 where I faced a hacker every 2-3 invasions we dont want that to repeat

quoting his last paragraph:

"I mostly play this solo and therefore being online doesn't matter much at all to me anyways."

If you follow that and try to play online, do so at your on peril. I would be more concerned with getting banned than being hacked, but neither is good.

However, I have disabled EAC to allow the use of a 21:9 aspect ratio fix. I can confirm the game plays much better.

This is a great, simple fix for all stuttering, lagging, network issues and everything else that's wrong with Elden Ring!

I seriously cannot take you seriously not trying to offend you.. however I am pointing out the degenerate characteristics of prime examples like you..

It is almost systematic.. the games you play, the pedo hentai.. it all links with the same whingers
"No one is getting personal" after literally telling me to "uninstall my life".
To the block list you go, you're just after a reaction.
haha comes and trolls and says I am after a reaction.. I told you.. you soft beta weak kids are making the world a better place.. it aint gonna be putin and sleepy joe its gonna be YOU son.

Just stay away from gaming reviews and playing games not designed for your age, it is a disgrace to all developers and the entire gaming community. thank you for blocking me so you dont have to comment in any other posts I make in the future.

Disabling the anti-cheat and running the FPS unlock stuff did absolutely nothing. I couldn't even tell a difference when it wasn't stuttering despite getting 165FPS. Oh well. Maybe we'll get a "remastered version" in 10 years that runs better on PC...
