Controller not working (DS5)
I'm using a dualsense 5 and so far haven't had any issues with games. Some require DS4windows but Elden Ring is the first to completely ignore this device.
Steam detects it fine and it should work but no button is registered in game.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Same here, no controller support with XBox One and Steam Controller. Workaround are not working too. Make a game like this without a controller support is a bad joke. FS deceive me greatly.

My PS5 controller works fine other than the xbox icons

This game's controller support is strange. It detects my PS4 controller just fine without DS4Windows, but it only has xbox controller prompts. If I use DS4Windows but stop it from emulating an xbox controller, it just straight up doesn't work. I'd just use DS4Windows to make it look like an xbox controller if that solves your problem

I have a PS5 and a new Xbox controller, (Not plugged in at the same time, and neither are detected in this game. I have watched multiple videos that walk you through making sure the controller is set up correctly in steam. (Which it is) but still no luck on detection

No PS button prompt using DS4. I hate when developer assume everyone used a xbox controller on PC.

Is there a way to get PS button prompts?

If you have a vjoy driver, uninstall/disable that. Steam should natively detect your controller.

Plug in your PS5 controller then open up big picture mode and go to calibrate to see if it works, if not uninstall controller and reinstall

Check out my guide first. If you don't want to:
Elden Ring is autistic when it comes to controllers. You absolutely cannot have more than 1 on your system, be them virtual or otherwise.
To eliminate this issue first, ensure that steam can only detect a single controller and that it's the one you want to use.

vJoy Device in device manager (if you have it), must be set to disabled.

my fix was literally unplug every USB device beyond your controller, mouse and keyboard. Then no issues since. tried plugging in my mic and speakers but controller didn't work again

Same here. This is the only way I get it to work. Also tried things like HID hider but doesn't help.
Sekiro does the exact same thing so it must be an engine problem.
So sick of From not caring about the technical state of their games.

They seems to have fixed the issue I was having I no longer have to unplug anything. Hopefully that works for everyone!
