Those with white screen cursor crash.
What Windows version do you see in Winver?

Do you have a laptop or a CPU with an integrated GPU?

What fixes have you tried so far?

Ah I see, was wondering if this issue was due to OS being outdated but from what I've seen people are having it on everything including 11. So that's pretty much ruled out. :/

Win10 Build 19043
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Processor (6CPUs), ~3.3GHz
16GB RAM
Asus Dual Fan Radeon RX 480
DirectX 12

I have tried turning it off and on again (everything individually),
verifying the files,
re-downloading,
turning off Steam overlay,
updating all drivers,
"fixing" Easy Anti-Cheat Game Launcher File
deleting the Elden Ring %appdata% file,
deleting programs that may interfere,
and tweaking a couple small settings rumored to fix similar crashes wit DS3

I get a white screen right after the Anti-Cheat loading screen with only my mouse cursor. If left alone, it will quit within 30 sec, and if I click, it will hasten that crash.

Please tell me any solution. It seems like no one has anything.

Dang 19043 is fairly recent isn't it? I'm at a complete loss too, it's looking like after two years of waiting for this game I'll have to hang up and try to avoid spoilers until either they release a patch or someone finds a major breakthrough in fixing this.

Looking at all the specs and builds , I wonder if they are using AVX2. Being only thing that crashes a game to desktop on older PC's is there CPU chipset instructions they are using aren't support with what you have. Most of your CPUs support SSe4.2 and AVX and not AVX2

I'm on a AMD Phenom ii x4 and most games today need or use SSe4.1 - 4.2 and AVX , so I cant play them at all unless I use the Intel emulator . If I play a game like this it will just crash without error or can get to the settings but when it goes to load it will just crash without warning or error.

I didn't know you could simulate an intel. Does it run smoothly?
I had the same problem with red dead redemption 2 :(
I have a Phenom II x4

Other thread said it's because your GPU do not support dx 12 latest build (12_1). So tough luck just refund if you got the white screen of death.

ofc run win10 at least, but more importantly check your gpus feature level. Directx12 isnt just directx12. A gt1030 can launch and run the game due to having directx12(12_1), whereas my stronger card a gtx 960m cannot due to running directx12(11_0). They basically didnt add full directx12 support, and we need this fixeds. As otherwise is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gamble wether you can run the game....

I have tried all of the above as well as running without EAC enabled and updating my windows OS and I am still crashing 15 - 30 seconds after launch. The frustrating thing was that originally the game launched fine for me the first time, then I closed it down to start a new game session and I encountered this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I'm tired of this, tired of modern gaming and i'm tired of these large companies not giving a single damn about the state the products are released in.

they could have easily avoided majority of negative reviews by adding directx11 support but they decided to release it on latest version of directx12 which prevents people even with strong enough GPUs from playing it because they cant support latest directx12 version, absolute bollocks, i expected from to add directx11 support because many people even with decent rigs can have issues with dx12.

You need a current build of Windows 10 (latest is 21H2, 19044) and your GPU must support Direct3D Feature level 12_1. A 960M won't work. They could make it work, probably, but I assume they just query the feature set and the GPU fails the test.

Elden Ring does not require AVX2. Old AMD Phenom CPUs don't work in modern games because they don't support SSE 4.1 onwards.

Some AVX1 usage randomly creeps into games and DRM solutions too. This renders Intel 2009-2011 era CPUs useless in the same way as the Phenoms.

I'm puzzled why no crash log is generated. Seems a bit sloppy for 2022.

If it didn't we wouldn't be complaining around here. Do you think we will just wait for the dev to fix it for us? We are NOT that patient.

My gpu supports dx 12_1, I updated both my graphic card drivers and windows 10. I was able to play the game on launch before this started happening, I have no idea what to do. My system can handle the game and it runs well, I just can't get past the white screen and crash
