Samurai or warrior starting dex class?

the uchigatana has allways been pretty MEH pve wise eary on, but the schimitar in ds 3 was amazing at the beginning, i wonder if the samurai will be better early in elden ring :)

all weapons have new animation amounts and combos so itll be interesting to see what become popular, probably longsword like always

bleed tends to always help and damage for them when having the right stats has held up nice, im sure youll be ok

Samurai is excellent for min-maxing, I'd say second best after Vagabond. And considering you aslo get DRIP it's an easy choice.

As a massive weeb, I'm going with Samurai, then adding sorcery to it because I'm also a total NERD.

AND with the Samurai...you start with a Longbow, with flaming arrow attack. Best start endurance too, so load isn't much of a factor (strength no longer determines this); you can wear the heaviest armor. And a shield --> remember that your katana can be wielded with both hands for extra damage, or one + shield in offhand to block physical damage.

Pretty sweet! The stats and gear make the beginning tutorial much easier, and leaves room to grow in a variety of build paths

The warrior's twin scimitars really appealed to me as well...long time Drizzt fan! But I really wanted to start off learning archery and having a ranged attack.
