Is this one of those games you can play forever?
For like 1000+ hours?

I am hoping so. I have been looking for a game like that. As much as I enjoy Cyberpunk 2077, it lacks any reason for continuation currently. Fallout New Vegas has more of that then Fallout 4. Fallout 4 eventually became tedious with its story and quests. Metro series games lack that, as does the new Borderlands and Hitman. Hitman 2 was more enjoyable and ran better, but Hitman (1) still did it best.

I would like a modern Baldurs Gate or Diablo, which could be played for an obscene amount of hours, and never get old. Based on what people told me about this developer and their previous games, I am inclined to think this might be the game for just that.

No. Not sure why anyone would want that anyways. There's so much more to life.

I personally do a lot of game dev and software programming. It's really fun, and fills my time in abundant amounts. I highly recommend everyone to start doing it, because it allows you to do so much. The only true endless game is the one you make yourself.

No, for a game to be played 1000+ hour it has to allow players to create stuffs that can influence the game world, without the creative part not even witcher 3 can be that long.
Total war, paradox games, minecraft, M&B, Stardew etc. can be that long.

Soul games replayability mainly from the atmospheric part, similar to stalker games. Or if you into the nefarious PvP part, but I doubt it can last you 1000 hours.

I hope it does for those who want it. I typically finish a game then move on to next one in my list but hope its worth revisiting down the road

Indeed. The young should go live and have fun. For me, I did my adventuring, been around the world, in two wars, and done doing all of those things. This old man is ready to game until he is in his grave.

GTA V has no building or crafting part, can't interact with the world or influence it any more than you can do in any of the other games, yet i easily have more than 2000 hours of playtime since 2015 on my social club. so there is no absolute rule.

Good for you, I run out of interest after a few hours because every aspect of GTA online have other game that dedicates to and excels in. But even with all those games added together cannot net me 1000 hours. I lose interest to repeated action too fast, so if I play a game 1000+ hours it probably means anyone else can too.

Yes for sure, it has alot of freedome of choice, you can try many many different builds, many new strats, you can try different builds in pvp. And dont forget that in future there will be DLC's and Fromsoft usually makes amazing DLC that are even better than their original game.

Dark Souls 2 has been the most robust game in the series, it has a ton of items to collect and is the only one in the series to introduce new things all the way into NG++.

It took me about 600 hours to 100% the game.

Average FromSoft game gets me about 60 - 90 hours of enjoyment and then I come back to it every so often to re-experience the game.

i know this game got this potential, alone all the different builds you can play and challanges you can do with your friends aswell as speedrunning with the communaty like in every From-Software game.

Freezes and stuttering may greatly increase game session length.

I have 3000+ hours on Witcher 3. I just plain enjoy being in these fantasy worlds. I am hoping to experience at least many hundreds of hours in Elden Ring. I like to spend a vast amount of time exploring, and I expect to have to re-fight many boss battles. Plus the replays. So, it'll take awhile.
