If i recall you start at Lv 1 so cost to go up is much cheaper and everything is 10 to begin with.
Tbh though, Don't go off BETA classes Dark souls 3 had some uniques that got scrapped last min. Could be that they just made some of them to exist for beta.
They've announced the starting classes for Elden RIng... or they've leaked, I'm not particularly sure. Either way they're out. Wretch (Deprived) starts with 10 in all base stats at level 1.

More so if all the tears about points in Arcane being a "wasted stat" turn out to be even slightly true. As wretch has one of the higher arcane stats of 10, while all the INT caster starts have sub 10 arcane. And Vagabond has the lowest at 7.
(I am still holding out for the surprise reveal that arcane is the side stat for summons power scaling or some comedy)
I did try it in Beta but Beast Claws had a glitch or utility problems on shallow water (claws disappear almost immediately) and it made me hate the spell.
But so far Prisoner seems to be good idea. Not caring too much about spell casting speed that comes from Dex but I can only guess that some STR based or Int weapons might have 12-15 Dex requirements in long run.
Hero or Astrologer. If dex is a concern, pick Astrologer (higher dex than hero, with lower arcane).
Str+Fth build would be Prophet followed by Hero, one level difference. (Trash Stats: Dex, Int, Arcane)
But I can't say I trust any of these sources, if they're true though, an Arcane playthrough could be something fun in future, just like in Bloodborne, but I'd say it's probably something to do when armed with knowledge of where you're gonna find those, not for your blind first playthrough where you're gonna stumble across viable options for Str/Dex/Int/Faith builds.
