This game crashes more on the version you pay for
Got a friend who has a cracked 1.0 copy of this game that runs better then my current updated version. I've crashed more times then I've died playing this game. What is going on?

>Apperently there is a crash that happens whenever you have the epic games launcher up at the same time as the game. (https://piunikaweb.com/2022/03/28/elden-ring-crashing-performance-issues-on-pc-lighting-bug-surfaces/)
>It often crashes at complete random even in the game, no error just frozen screen but playing audio still
>sometimes crashes where it simply just closes for no reason.

What is going on?

I've had the EGS store open for my entire playthrough (nearly 170 hours), and I've only had 4 crashes, most of which were caused by boss cutscene transitions during co-op so might be something to do with your hardware/other software.

I don't do EGS. Can you close the launcher while playing the game?

Article confirms it. It was a crash that happened 5 times in the exact same tunnel after beating the tutorial knight boss. After closing EGS it stopped crashing there.

I didn't buy the game off egs, unsure if you even can. But you can't have it running at all while playing or run the risk of crashing. at least for me and that article?

I know alot of people have been pointing to EAC being the culprit behind alot of Elden Ring's stability issues which would also check out if a cracked copy was running better.

Most likely, watching them play is what got me to get the game at all. but now I've very disappointed. I've only seen them crash twice but I've crashed 5 more times (also took down my discord) all within me just making this post and replying to people.
