When I returned to DS3 after some Nioh 2, I had to triple check that I was not fat rolling or that my game-pad was working whenever I pressed the button. By default movement and rolls almost feel like you are in the swamp level...
Comparatively, ER is a bit slow but feels good and jumping is a great addition.
Bosses are super ♥♥♥♥ in ER though, I agree.
In ds 3 base game I'd say Abyss watchers, Pontiff, Champion gundyr, Nameless king, Twin princes, DSA, Dancer, Soul of cinder are all great bosses.
The fact that ds 3 has a larger number of good, memorable bosses than Elden ring while being a fraction of its size should tell you everything.
I played the two games back to back, and one is relatively clunky and the other is slow but smooth.
Also, related to that, if they want to make the game full of bosses that move faster than Sekiro and Blooborne bosses, they should have implemented Sekiro style fast roll, where a press will roll, not a release. These bosses hit way to fast for you to actively recognize and roll while dealing with the roll on release implementation.
We need data, because by feel I would say that Nioh and Sekiro are perfectly suited to the goal, DS3 feel bad and unresponsive and ER is decent. Weird...
i noticed it on the very first bossfight 5 minutes in the game to an extend i thought it was bugged
I never noticed in DS3 and never in Sekiro
its sprint, dodge , stop sprint and roll on the same button
so 4 functions in 1 button >-< that are dependant on button release timing >_<

On the subject of bosses, I think DS3 had 6-8 in its base game which were particularly good-to-amazing, ER has taken DS2's quantity approach through making Chalice dungeons essentially mapped to dungeon and area zones in an open world, but there are definitely great bosses to be found in them, and plenty of the "main" bosses are good to amazing in my eyes.
Godskin Noble (skinny), Rennala, Black Blade Kindred, and Ancient Dragon Lansseax aare some bosses I have had a lot of fun with.
Margit, Godrick, Radahn, and Malenia are all bosses I've had A LOT of fun with.
I think all FromSouls games really hit their strides in the boss department with DLC, when they've had months to establish and tune themselves to how the mechanics behave with player experience and exploration, so I'm looking forward to seeing what they bring to the table in the coming months.
Most ER bosses in later stages have severe balance issues.
Elden Ring feels to me like the majority of the bosses want to be Gael — with varying permutations in size — but tuned up to 11 and without any semblance of predictability.
