How do you naturally know without a guide?
You need to be naked in front of the door that lead to the three fingers to unlock it. I just don't get it howw??!

Those were the days!
I remember the first time somebody told me about the aoe1 big daddy cheat codes :D or how some madlad discovered the chromanin questline in gothic 1 on his own in primary school.

hahaaha yeah the world without internet, gaming cheat/secret is such a precious treasure. i wonder what happen if there is no internet about spoiling game secret anywwhere. elden ring will be a loooong play with ng+++++ to discover all the endings alone, or maybe some ending is just impossible to achieve alone because maybe its just too hidden?

There aren't really that many quests that don't explicitly tell you where to go. Take Ranni's for example. It may seem like it's vague but it's really not. Maybe by chance you aren't gonna know 100% how to do it through your first playthrough because it requires a bit of map knowledge and just by playing and exploring your first time through you should know where the important places are. The hardest part is knowing where Mistwood is. They literally tell you Blaidd is going there through a well to get underground. So yeah if you don't know where mistwood is you probably wouldn't know how to continue the quest. But if you make it a point to travel on your map and see what's out there you would know where it is and be able to make the math happen.
hers is a bad example as she just says go here and do a thing with 0 vagueness

You should explore and discover, only use the wiki when you're about done with the game and wanna find stuff that you may have missed.
Doesn't that result in likely losing access to significant parts of the stuff you missed?

Yes, that's why these games have high replay value :)

You know back when video games were first released to the world, there were no guides, players had to actually PLAY THE GAME and discover the stuff for themselves :)

The game only nudges you but you're still fully expected to explore and keep pulling on the thread to continue your quest. All the go to X and do Y quests requires you to explore. If you don't know where waypoint ruins or castle sol is, go out there and look for it. The maps have distinct landmarks that indicate points of interest. I don't mean the location icons that appear when you've been to a place but the actual drawings on the map.

Millicent takes you all over the damn place with zero clues.

I still can't believe they went with the silly "fingers" thing.
The game feels like a masterwork and the fingers feel like a meme, like it should have been some secret side room where it's revealed as a joke.

Scripted invade won't happen if you kill certain bosses in the region though

I mean, doesn't everybody get naked in front of an ominous looking door that looks like it's meant to seal away some ancient evil?
