BloodHound step is a mistake, change my mind
Why bother with literally any other ash of war when u can just spam the step almost for free?, like even quickstep, why bother having it there?

Literally invisible while doing it too. Fromsoft probs never intended it to replace dodge roll which is what it does

Not sure if you're being sarcastic but as it stands people are just pressing L2 and B until something dies, not really much of a change except people playing with non-busted weapons are being punished even if they're legitimately good in PVP.

Doesn't feel great to outplay someone and chip them down when they slip up, when all it takes is one mistake on my part to get instakilled.

Is it satisfying when I do utterly outplay and curbstomp someone like that? Sure.
Is it worth it when I know the next invasion is gonna be the same, and the one after that and so on? Not really.

It's because when a weapon is so damn good, everything sucks ass compared to it and it just becomes boring and then you just miss that really good and effective weapon so you end up using that weapon all the time. I suppose its the same with the Ashes of war.

Was probably the case with Hoarfrost Stomp, but now after it got nerfed to the ground, nobody is using it, mentioning it, it's just a forgotten Ash of War now lol

Personally I don't care much for Bloodhound Step, I love spamming that sweet Corpse Piler Ash of War with Rivers of Blood and don't really need the dodging from Bloodhound step, but as for PVP... maybe that's a different matter, but I don't PVP either.
Just increase the stamina / FP consumption or reduce the iframe and distance travelled. Done.

I don't really care for PVP, but I'm not gonna pretend I don't adore Bloodhound step in pve, dancing around crowds of enemies is fun. All increased FP will do is make it a wizard item, which is hilarious as a concept since they get the most mileage out of it anyways, increased stamina might help stop spam, but not really. Stamina is easy to deal with. A cooldown too long makes it useless, and too short changes nothing. BHS is gonna be hard to balance for PVP, which is why I advocate for no change as someone who does PVP when an arena is available, but typically sunbros

I think the best thing to do is just change some animations based on weapon type.
I don't mind a dagger/straightsword/katana being fast on a quickstep attack, because it's a fast weapon anyways.

But an ultra doing a super fast poke and still applying the same insane bleedup for doing a slow regular attack with such a large weapon? It's undeniably dumb. Ultras are supposed to hit like a truck but require big brain plays to land those hits, not just spamming L2>R1 and bleeding someone in two pokes whilst still doing the insane damage you expect from an ultra.

Another option could be tuning the damage and status buildup on quickstep attacks. Something fast to whip out really shouldn't be doing that much.

I also see issues with this, since it also means bigger weapons are seriously disadvantaged against particular bosses on the PVE side. This is a me only point, but I'd be for removing the instant attack after the dash, since it copies the roll attack. I never use it anyways, so I have less authority to talk about it, but I don't even use it, and it would help balance it for PVP since you can't come out swinging as efficiently anymore

Edit: You edited yours, so I'll do mine. Tuning down the quickstep's damage would also work for me

I think it's a tad overrated. Honestly.
Some other Ash of Wars are seriously good, you should try em.

That's way too much. The first idea is good and maybe the second but without the increase.

3 would be fine, especially if removing some i-frames near the end. That would make it a defensive move (probably as intended) and not something suitable for offense (since you could be caught more easily when "stepping out").

Have not tried this with my fists in pvp yet, so it's not allowed to go anywhere. >=O
