System -> Network -> Cross-Region play question

Is it just me or is this setting (very ?) confusing. Both it's values and the description is confusing IMO. What does this setting actually do ?

And what value should I actually use: "No Matchmaking" or "Perform Matchmaking" when my goal is to have as much co-op as possible ?

Just so you know...

Traditionally this feature does basically nothing unless you live in Japan.

If you set it to "No Matchmaking" you will not play with people in japan.
If you set it to Matchmaking you will potentially be able to play with Japanese players if they opt in to "Perform Matchmaking"

In all the previous games there were only two regions, Japan and Other. So until we get more info just assume that this feature does almost nothing.
