I found the solution to the white screen problem or for me at the lest so basically you can'
t have anything running while trying to open it EVERYTHING must be closed to work so like close your tabs or other games, the only thing that can be open is steam I have tried this a few times and now its been working fine once you boot up the game you can open things to boost your CPU or your tabs or whatever just cant have anything up while opening it up.

For ME....it was my monitor resolution. I had to manually turn it down inside my OS to something like 59.9. I have a native 144 monitor and Elden Ring doesn't like that. Sometimes I could "trick" it to run, but more often than not I was stuck with this same problem to the point I was looking into a refund.

Try checking your resolution and setting it to 60 or lower.

you mean monitor HZ?

most cases are caused by any type of overlay so disable all you are aware of

Yes. It's repeatable. Again, for me....it was my monitor, although I didn't crash, the game would just hang on a white screen.

I totally get what you mean about overlays....but I use all of them fine so long as my monitor is set to 60Hz .

I can set my monitor to 144Hz in the OS and get the hang again. Did it a few days ago, changed it to watch a 4K HDR 120 movie....forgot to change it back, loaded up ER..../facepalm

monitor hz is changed outside the game like in nvidia control panel or rclick desktop>display setings>advanced display settings, i recommend setting it to 60 but it might be worth checking if other vallues work like M'Hijo suggests.
also try run a clean driver instal using DDU, then instal latest drivers.
additionally u can make ingame graphic changes using C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing\GraphicsConfig.xml

u could try copy these settings:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16" ?>
<config><ScreenMode>WINDOW</ScreenMode>
<Resolution-WindowScreenWidth>1280</Resolution-WindowScreenWidth>
<Resolution-WindowScreenHeight>720</Resolution-WindowScreenHeight>
<Resolution-FullScreenWidth>1600</Resolution-FullScreenWidth>
<Resolution-FullScreenHeight>900</Resolution-FullScreenHeight>
<Resolution-BorderlessScreenWidth>1600</Resolution-BorderlessScreenWidth>
<Resolution-BorderlessScreenHeight>900</Resolution-BorderlessScreenHeight>
<Auto-detectBestRenderingSettings>OFF</Auto-detectBestRenderingSettings>
<QualitySetting>CUSTOM</QualitySetting>
<TextureQuality>MAX</TextureQuality>
<Antialiasing></Antialiasing>
<SSAO>HIGH</SSAO>
<DepthOfField>DISABLE</DepthOfField>
<MotionBlur>DISABLE</MotionBlur>
<ShadowQuality>HIGH</ShadowQuality>
<LightingQuality>HIGH</LightingQuality>
<EffectsQuality>HIGH</EffectsQuality>
<ReflectionQuality>HIGH</ReflectionQuality>
<WaterSurfaceQuality>HIGH</WaterSurfaceQuality>
<ShadeQuality>HIGH</ShadeQuality>
<VolumetricEffectQuality>HIGH</VolumetricEffectQuality>

Made a short video for demonstration. First I show what happens when I try to load at greater than 60Hz, then I successfully load at 59.9. It's a full shot video as to demonstrate NOTHING else was done or changed off screen, Hope it helps.
