Getting one shot with some of the attacks is fine, you are supposed to git gud, not get a huge HP bar to tank all the damage
They definitely changed their philosophy which is sad. I feel like DS games weren't about difficulty necessarily, they were about harsh, cold realism and atmosphere. I feel like all that was lost with ER, bosses feel like anime characters with crazy moves. Yet the player still moves like they did in DS. Kinda unfair.
I introduce to you... adaptability in DS2
The longer you last the more damage you deal. Don't blow everything in one load.
