Which weapon-type is the most fun to use?

I always enjoy using colossal weapons, the slow attack makes you have to really learn the enemy attacks and utilize your moveset to its fullest, while clearing common enemies like soldiers is a breeze as you can often one shot them.

Greatswords are my favourite in DS1, DS2, DS3 and ER.
I mean it hast the word "great" in it , so they must be great? :P

Heavy Thrusting Swords. New and totally dump on every other pierce weapon type. Besides ofc some unique outliners.

Twin blades. My second completed playthrough used the Eleoanora's Poleblade after the Arcane scaling fix. It's WA is pretty much a guaranteed critical-hit opening on every enemy. A bit wonky to use since you're jumping around like a goon. I paired it with the Lord of Blood's Exultation and Rotten Winged Sword Insignia.

I also used a Godskin Peeler for bosses the poleblade was weak against. The Godskin Peeler has a unique sprinting R2 and is really strong for it.

If you want to use a more technically-inclined weapon, the Bloody Helice is lots of fun. Works on the same build as the Eleoanora's Poleblade and I often would swap to it for fun. You can use its ability to dodge towards and enemy if you 180 before using it, and then follow it up with a power attack that deals a ton of poise. Harder to use than the poleblade but so satisfying.

Heavy Thrusting Swords are really slept on. Powerstancing two Heavy Thrusting swords is the second most fun I have had with eldenring so far.

Most fun is the run I am doing right now: One-Eyed Shield only. Probably my favorite weapon in the whole game.
