Farming runes at Greyoll's Dragonbarrow

I'm using that huge ball that spawns behind you down the hill. But it doesn't always give you the 1.9k worth of runes. I can hear the chime sound they just don't reach me.

Is this a bug or does it depend on where the huge ball lands? Or at what angle you dodge out of its way?

are you sometimes not looking in its direction? i think i read somewhere you have to look into the direction where it falls down, or be locked on. But can not say for sure

Nope. I don't look at it all. Soon as I see the white light from the corner of my eye I turn and double jump out of the way.

Nope. I don't look at it all. Soon as I see the white light from the corner of my eye I turn and double jump out of the way.

Your camera needs to be facing in the general direction the ball goes over the edge. The game seems fickle about that. You don't have to run to the cliff and watch it, just have the camera in the direction of the ball after it's rolled past you.

That ball is such a bad spot. I'd rather farm Giants in the field because at least you're getting experience against a mob that you're going to see time and time again.

Regardless, the bird is the best. If you're pre-Godrick, there's no point in farming. It's such a waste of time.

Trust me. I know. I wasted a lot of time in my first run.

bro your farming spot is terrible. No offense but you should be shooting the bird with arrows. Pretty much everyone uses this farm spot because you can get it very early in the game and it is the fastest way to earn souls. 11-13k souls each time you shoot this bird with an arrow and you can do it so fast you are resting at the bonfire before the souls even go into your inventory.

I would give you the tip where you dont need to farm runes.
There will be enemies and bosses in the game where your level doesnt matter.
They will punish you for every mistake you do.

I literally zoned out and farmed over 500k souls from muscle memory. I wasn't even paying attention to the screen. You do it so much it becomes reflex. Also once you beat Radahn and get his weapon you can use it at this same spot to now earn about 20k souls each time and it takes maybe 4 seconds per 20k souls.

Yea but I have to up my str to 38 first. That takes time.

Nah that's ok. I don't want to skip content like that. I like to play and progress as intended. Else it will be a jarring experience as I won't know what's what you know what I mean?
