invasion balance?
i completely understand why invasions are much more of a pain in this game; infact i'd still say considering how little damage you do in co-op in this compared to DS3 or any other of these games; it's actually still the easiest way to earn rune arcs; (for the first 50 levels at least imo), it's an open world game and it'd be a pain to make this thing work in a non-intrusive obnoxious way

i'm not really sure how you'd fix it so the invader doesn't die instantly when the other players know what they're doing at least a little bit, in my experience late-game invasions have been in majority instant deaths unless the other guys are clueless; this might also be because i use ultra-great swords which are just awful in this game for pvp and barely hold up in PVE.

i know a lot of people prefer this; there's really no point in discussing it if you do so just ignore this and move on :). but i'm curious what would be a balanced way to do this without 24/7 invasions that interupt exploring the open world and dungeons - should rune arcs opt you into invasions at least in dungeons only? that could work, or a good idea i have is since by default it's a 1v2 invasion unless taunter's tongue is used, why not let 2 invaders join if there's 2 co-op summons and a host? a 3v2 is fair imo, i don't see how you're gonna make it out of a lobby with 3 people that each do 60% of your health in damage and just called a hunter to make it a 4v1, even 4v2 would be fine, but for some reason elden ring's lobbies are limited to 5 players regardless of what you do which wasn't the case before.

yes i'm aware there's a lot of disgusting builds an invader can come up with to tip the scales in their favor, i'm speaking from a perspective of creative build freedom, i don't mind being 2v1d as an invader, it's fair, but 3v1 and 4v1 can be unwinnable if they know even a little bit about how to avoid dying to you, specially if you're going for a less than meta-build; i'd rather not resort to 1-hit kill sorceries or 1hit madness indusing spells, they already do it to me in 4v1s which is hilarious; i just wanna know what you guys think in terms of how to balance the pvp without making invasions obnoxious for an open world game; again if you think this is fine do me a favor and move on, and if you think invasions should be like DS3 where it's just constant also do move on cause it doesn't work for open world games and i won't be changing my mind; cheers.

In late game areas invaders have much less HP than regular enemies. Of course they get oneshot. What did you expect?

I think invader's hp or defenses should scale to the number of coop phantoms, maybe damage as well but probably not
perhaps scale poise to not get stun locked as easily

yea poise seems to be a big problem sometimes; i've not experimented much but i feel like in ds3 i could get a high poise build going with very low armor while its the opposite here, its definitely bad for group fights.
