People swear Mimic is OP but they have no idea that it's not really good until you get it around +8 which is many hours into the game. I hope you buffed Wolves or something else.
I think I had Radahn Soldiers for this. They were Pretty good.
It heavily depends on your gear, because mimic mimics your gear. I used Sword of the Night and Flame and Moonveil on my first playthrough, and my mimic remained op from first to the end.
Edit1: I used Radahn's armor too
I could see that. I tried to stay close to clean as posible. No Magic or OP Weapon Skills. I saw what Moonveil could do and it just seemed too op. Yet I loved Mimic. Amazing how we all have a line lol.
Killed him with a lvl 1 character using a bow. Heres the video.. probably wont help much unless you are a caster or archer, but maybe itll help.

took me 4 tries with this method
Not on a first Blind mostly and honest play through. Mimic won't even be the 1st Renowned you see and more than likely won't be the 1st one you start buffing. Going forward you should see people hanging on to them for Mimic. I was done with the game early. I didn't have the benefit of knowing like the slowpokes and late comers:)
