Is Elden Ring able to be Family Shared?
My brother just purchased the game and I said I was interested in giving it a try. Seeing how his internet is very slow to download he agreed to let me setup family sharing from his Steam account. Every time I try to play the game it just prompts me saying I need to buy it and that "this library is not currently available for library share". I've tried looking on the internet for a solid answer saying that the game isn't shareable but I haven't found anything concrete.

It's region restricted with regards to Family share, so as long as you're brother isn't living in another country it should be fine.
Otherwise sounds like he might just be playing something currently. Have him possible play offline for the time being and see if that helps. Does he share with anyone else?

OH yea and unlike prior souls games, if any account gets banned in Elden Ring they all get banned.

Sounds like it is a problem with the shared library, not the game. Have you tried using another game from the library? I have already shared Elden Ring, so it's definitly possible.

Edit: got ninjad, didn't know about possible country restrictions.

Ah, I see. I was under the impression that once family shared as long as we aren't trying to play the same game I would be able to play shared games. But I will have him stop playing his current game / go into offline mode and see if that works. Thank you guys!

Sorry for necroing the thread, but since it says sharing is disabled in the main page I wanted to confirm with it's still possible as long as the other person is in the same country or if it's gone for good.

No problem at all, I was able to play it from my brothers account, but only when he wasn't playing a game or had steam in offline mode.

Thank you for the confirmation; :D

GUYS I HAVE A QUESTION

For example, my family shared Elden ring with my friend. Can we play together? or is it possible to play at the same time?

family share only works for one. if the main account is online and playing anything you can not use any of the shared games, if you are playing and the other account goes online it will close your game.
family share is not a play together function only one can play at the same time.

Nah, some other games can be played simultaneously, using two different Steam accounts and two different PCs. For example God of War. Tried playing at the same time using two different steam accounts and PC.

not with family share, games that support the play together feature can be played this way at two accounts at the same time but it has nothing to do with family share

family share FAQ

Can two users share a game library and play at the same time?
No, a shared game library can only be used by one user at a time.
