Yeah I mean, it's really not. You're simply saying that because other people have.
The boss designs are, for the most part, pretty bad. The boss fight arenas are pretty bad, too.
It's easy because you can just run past most things and not deal with them.
100% agree
ER is only easy when you do use summons. Or did use some of the OP stuff that is now patched. Or when you abuse the open world and get +9 Somber weapns in midgame >_<
I mean for example old sword of night and flame with determination buff was so broken that you really cant complain about the game being too easy when you do 6900 damage a hit.....
And if you do use spirit ashes or npc summons all souls games are a joke in difficulty.
For true melee (no spirit ashes , no npc , no ranged ashes of war , no open world abuse) the game is harder than previous games for sure.
Its just so much easier than Elden ring, anyone who see Dark soul harder obviously never returned to the game after beating it once. Because you would steamroll the entire game with no effort.
you know how most open world games copy and paste content to make it look like it has great value? achievements are the same but the devs put even less effort into it.
I honestly don't know why people are so desperate for achievements but each their own :)
While at it, why not also remove all classes, armor, levels, weapons, spells, weapon arts, ashes of war?
Basically just force everyone to only play sl1 wretch with a club with basic attack and wear only a loincloth. Either git gud or git out.
It turns out that this game is built on the idea of giving freedom to the player. So inevitably there will be players who will use overpowered builds while others will use very inefficient builds. Nothing wrong with that, that's what the term freedom means, play as you like.
The problem with that is that's impossible to balance a game for so many possible situations.
In my style of play, it is all suffering. I need to expose myself a lot, I need to attack the bosses hundreds of times in a slow and methodical way, all while surviving the countless trollish moves they make that look like were created by a Japanese teenager who creates "difficult" levels in Mario Maker.
Elden Ring is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a "good" game. Everything feels terribly unfair and poorly designed. And when I "git gud" and kill difficult bosses with my build, I don't feel any satisfaction, just relief that I don't have to put myself through this poorly designed challenge sh*t anymore.
Quick side question: Is your name a reference to Opeth? If so, :praisesun:.
