I hate losing all my runes when I get killed. So this is what I do.
When I get a lot of runes, I travel to the Gatefront Ruins lost grace site that's right in front of Stormhill. I tag the Troll and run him outside to where the grace site is and let him kill me.

So now have 0 runes because they're there on my corpse just a couple steps away from the grace site.

Then I go out and get more come back and add them to what's on the corpse by picking the other runs up again. Then die to the troll again, and go back to exploring and questing. But now I know that my "corpse" (or whatever it's called) is a treasure chest where I store my runes. Of course before I log off I have to go back and grab them and do that all over again.

Hopefully there is a better way to save my runes that I haven't discovered yet, and someone can share it with me.

But I die a lot and it gets very frustrating when there are levels I want to buy, or something from a merchant, but there is no safe place to store my runes to stop losing them. So I just store them in a "corpse-chest". So I know they'll still there, safe. Just have to walk a couple of steps away from Gatefront Ruins grace site.

Maybe this is so known and common no one has ever needed to talk about it in a post. But I really don't mind being wrong, when someone gives me the right answer :)

Or... just drink the flask that gives you no rune loss on death for 3 minutes.

It even works retroactively where if you consume it on a rune corpse run, dying won't make you lose your rune stash. So you can keep trying over and over again until you get your runes back.

Also, your corpse chest has 0 runes now. It doesn't stay there safe. It resets on each death so you have 0 runes now.

.. i dont understand even what you're saying lol

if you die while your runes are on the ground next to the grace, those runes are gone. how are you "storing" them..?

am i misreading something lol

I think you have a mind-blowing misunderstanding of how this game works hahahaha
Literally just spend them, why would you try to die i f you already die a lot...?
This is one of the most bizarre posts Ive ever read

sounds like a great plan, what could go wrong?

Uhhh, if you die again, your "corpse" near the troll should disappear. Just use the wonderous physik that prevents rune loss. There is also a branch talisman that prevents rune loss but its kinda expensive, and takes up a talisman slot.

I have noticed, that if you drink the physik or equip branch, your "corpse" doesn't disappear. So maybe this is what OP meant, if they were only using branches and afraid of running out.

i think what he means is that he gets exp, loses it at grace, goes and collects more, picks up his old exp, dies again. So his corpse that is at grace has main stack of souls while he gets more. If u die tho, u lose ur original corpse runes, bad strat:P im sure you will find a way:)!

OP, are you talking about runes as an object (the ones you get from glowing skulls and at graveyards) or are you talking about the runes you get for killing enemies?
You don't lose the first kind on death and the later you can pick up at the place where you died, but if you die before picking them up they are gone.

I mean, I guess oofing yourself is a good way to prevent rune loss on death since you literally won't have any.

I'm getting a headache trying to understand the logic here.

I appreciate your efforts OP. I hope you succeed in tricking some idiots into trying this.

No, what's more likely is I misunderstood what I was playing :) I'm only 27. :)

There is a potion called "Memory of Lost Grace" is says "lose all your runes, return to the last site of grace visited". That seemed so completely worthless that I never used it. Soon as you use it, you lose everything and it ports you away, so you have to run back. ]

But that seems to totally worthless, why would they put that in the game...unless I've misunderstood and it's one of the most useful potions. The description just made it sound bad.

Again, you're not making any sense....Also, you have 101 hrs in Elden Ring and not a single achievement I don't think you're playing the game right lol.
