you can opt out and always have been able to. no summon = no invasion.
nothing wrong with wanting to play w friends and steamroll the game, but limitations are put in place to keep the game balanced and difficult.
obviously it would be absurd to let people opt out of bosses, or opt out of dying, or opt out of having to level str/dex/int/fth/arc to get good weapon damage - they are just basic game mechanics that balance the game, just like invasions.

Literally people had no problems with invaders by 1v3 Ganking 1st 2 weeks of this game and they were feeling themselves. The moment RoB gets fixed (a noob stomper weapon) i might add, because decent player wont die easily to RoB. Coop players start crying, because they cant rush in and just r1 gank with out the possibility of getting RoB AoE Wiped.
Im curious what Invaders are even inconveniencing anyway, MAJORITY of coop runs if you happen to not get invaded, is coop people just 1-2 hitting enemies, bleed or spell spam boss while you hide behind them. Ppl find this fun?
Host/Cooperators: "dont control how people have fun"
Invaders: "nope time to give you a reality check and add abit of difficulty to your already easy run bucko"
Sounds like 50% of this community should just go and play Monster Hunter
Not worth it. ER is simply not going to have the longevity the past games had and its a shame but it is what it is.
Mods are a pain in the ass as well because of EAC another nail in the coffin for this games longevity.

Lets not bring that hellspace up, if you think invaders are bad wait until you get ganked by co-opers dragon breath just because you wnated to 1v1.
Invasion is way funnier just because you can get the upperhand and griefing is fun.
Invasions are not a healthy experience, it is exploiting toxic behavior. No one has fun being invaded by someone holding an end game boss weapon with a huge AOE. No one is having fun when they are invaded by someone who just rolls towards you doing massive AOE damage while you are engaged in a fight with trash NPCs. No one wants to spend 40 or 50 minutes trying to find the PVP player who disguised themself as a bush somewhere in the open world, preventing you from progressing the direction you want to go.
Invasions are inherently Toxic for the majority of players, and you are frustrated that they don't want to give you the satisfaction of killing them. The Irony is suffocating..
You cry about other players having the upper hand and ganking in Co-op...
But you want to invade people and grief while using the upper hand...
What exactly is wrong with you? Are you self aware?
Not every player is breezing through the game, they aren't scientifically examining weapon stats and only using the very best of what they find with the best build. Some players are going through for the fun of it, and want to play with friends to help. They are summoning Co-op players to help for goodness sake, they wanted HELP with an area that they aren't breezing through. Playing with other players is just more enjoyable as well, turning a lonely trek into a social encounter.
It is not 'a bit of difficulty'. Invaders are next to impossible for average players to handle. It is flat out toxic exploitative gameplay, holding end game boss weapons, there is one that literally has an enormous continuous AOE attack that can be used over and over and over again. And then they taunt. And come to these forums to cry about not being able to invade and molest players as they wish.
It is galling to witness.

Like you do understand the difference between invasion and dualsigns?
If you put down a dualsign then someone have to ACCEPT you into their world.
And then getting ganked by three people that ACCEPTED you into their world for a fight is ABSOLUTELY not the same.
I know that you have more salt than a saltmine crying all over the board but please have some kind of restraint.
