I had my vigor at 40 around 125, so I was probably doing it wrong haha.
Watchdog's Staff+10 and Greatshield
A friend was using the Fallingstar Beast Jaw and beat her in like 2 tries with a summon because of how the thing can perma-stun. He linked me a video of how it worked and I'm surprised it's not the meta way to deal with her. I thought about cheesing the fight but I really wanted to do it legit, would have felt dirty otherwise.
I fought her after I already beat the final boss and I had to look up a guide on how to get to the area she was in. So I might have been, or might not have been, overleveled. The enemies and Malenia herself felt like they were doing a decent chunk of damage to me, while I didn't do an absurd amount to them, so I think I was okay.
I was actually able to block some of her flurry with a shield. If she'd pop it while behind you then game over, but so long as you keep her in front and have the stamina, I was amazed it could be blocked.
I had been running dual great sword STR build for most of the game, this fight made me spec into bleed/arcane and holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ did it make a difference.
This is true. I'd used shields in pretty much all previous From games, I just wanted to go full on dual wield this time around, but I have found a shield is always nice to have on.
