What level were you when you beat Melania?
I had tried for a few hours at like 125, but it wasn't happening so I put on a playlist and farmed the bird for a few hours and got to like 165 lol. That extra vigor did help!

I had my vigor at 40 around 125, so I was probably doing it wrong haha.
I think I overleveld myself, because I tried to check every single corner. I was around 210. My first stat was 99 vigor :c7xd:

90-100 range, using a mace and attacking non stop makes her not so bad as long as you dodge her flurry

A friend was using the Fallingstar Beast Jaw and beat her in like 2 tries with a summon because of how the thing can perma-stun. He linked me a video of how it worked and I'm surprised it's not the meta way to deal with her. I thought about cheesing the fight but I really wanted to do it legit, would have felt dirty otherwise.

Level 128.

I fought her after I already beat the final boss and I had to look up a guide on how to get to the area she was in. So I might have been, or might not have been, overleveled. The enemies and Malenia herself felt like they were doing a decent chunk of damage to me, while I didn't do an absurd amount to them, so I think I was okay.

I was actually able to block some of her flurry with a shield. If she'd pop it while behind you then game over, but so long as you keep her in front and have the stamina, I was amazed it could be blocked.

I had been running dual great sword STR build for most of the game, this fight made me spec into bleed/arcane and holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ did it make a difference.

her flurry alway can be block u just need stamina for it and she heal him blocked atk too but if u have enough damage u can just punish her back with more damage after she is done

that'd require me to use a shield which i refuse to do, but yeah it is an effective tactic

shield block is very good against bosses, even if you get poise broken from stam damage you take no hp damage and usually have time to recover before another attack

i think people don't block nearly enough playing this game when it could ease a lot of fights for them

This is true. I'd used shields in pretty much all previous From games, I just wanted to go full on dual wield this time around, but I have found a shield is always nice to have on.

135, 15 vigor but I used a greatshield + barricade for her combos
