im on fire giant with a strength build and i am struggling alot. i got the guts greatsword at like +18 or something and a cold bleed weapon at +20 and im currently level 108, should i farm a bit more or just git gud and keep fighting him?

he was harder than the final boss for me personally so i feel your pain. I suggest using a good spirit ash +10 (black knife tiche or mimic tear ideally) and get some consumable items to buff you up then just 'git gud' by learning the attack patterns, what's safe to dodge roll, what you need to jump over, run away from, etc. Second phase he is weak to magic on his chest (the opening) so if you got some magic/incantantions aim them for the chest.

Also try not using lock on as the camera will be aids and make it harder to get out of the way of attacks. You can spell parry his fire crap but if you miss it will hurt so safer to dodge/ run away from blasts.

Took me at least 25 tries which was more than anything else so far.

With the torrent and a little more defense against fire, you can, try to focus on the weaknesses of BOSS.

I would go solo, use my horse, Make sure you can switch to your horse and back off your horse QUICK. Use a fast weapon if possible. Use LOTS of Fire defence. Hit ''HIS'' left foot first, break the chain, then hit his right foot, all while trying to not get hit by his fire. Watch out for the fire orbs especially. And if nothing is working, you can cheese him.....it involves him falling....
If you hit his right foot in the right way, when he rolls, he wont hurt you, keep to his outside while hitting his rightfoot.

When getting on and off you horse its like a roll with invincibility frames.

Did they fix the cheese where you could drag him over a ledge in the boss arena where he will land and crack his feet?

Get double bleed Greatswords and go for the foot with the chains. Once it is broken just keep hammering his feet and bleed will do the rest. Phase 2 just bait out his flame strike go behind him and spam Jumping L1s till bleed procs twice and he will die.

Strat should work for other weapons aswell you can do boss damageless or if you really don't want to fight him do the cheese https://youtu.be/lbJ61l1Yz1Y i believe you go to a certain spot and boss kills itself.

Or, Go get mimic tear and it'll do the fight for you.

Summon alexander the jarman if he's available...

Do it on foot, his attacks are slow, deliberate and telegraphed so time your dodge for that sweet sweet iframe. His snow throw is easy to avoid, dodge roll into it. Only real threat is double shield strike where he slams his shield down, dodge, and then do a swipe from left to right, dodge.

Focus on his left foot (From your perspective, it's the right one, away from the shield when facing him), When he tries to roll away, he tends to miss if you are between his legs. Phase 1 easy peasy cleared.

Phase 2, his body rolling is a bit tricky so be prepared to dodge once you see him lying down, His hands are weak points but you can strike his other body parts... If you are mid distance away, try to close in and watch out for that burning fireball throw from his hands(Very fast and homing). When he stretch out both arms, he's going to rain down fire, safe place is behind his back, or you can move around and avoid the rain(no need to dodge).

Large enemy, it's easier to stay close and don't rely on "lock on". Be brave... Practice makes perfect. Oh don't use fire damage, spells or weapons, I saw some hosts who use fire spells...I did all the damage for phase 1 with my holy sword and host promptly died in phase 2....

i got medium rolls i made it very important for me not to fat roll

Get some burred bolts and blood bolts and just range him from your horse.
