Reinstalling the game from scratch does work, but it's not exactly pragmatic.
Like I said I have really good internet, so a full install of the game only takes me like 20 minutes and I don't have to worry about a data limit.
If you can't reinstall it quickly, or have a data limit, you're better off just waiting for the patch to load or finding a real fix
The Download patch was just over 111 mb, but it is patching 30 GB of the game. It's taking forever on my SSD.
He is busy pushing people down holes he will be back soon do not worry thineself.
Yea I was reading some other posts that depending where your Steam Library is, devices will patch differently? I keep my Library on an external SSD, so maybe it was trying to patch the 30gb as you mentioned, but I jumped the gun and screwed up the process. Oh well. A day and a fresh install later, I am on my way to becoming Elden Lord again...unfortunately still maidenless :(
In my search to find a fix, I did however find where the Elden Ring character save data file is! Calmed my nerves a bit because my main concern was starting over again.
