hey, I have been gifted the game but I cant find where to check if I have the deluxe edition or not? can I upgrade to the deluxe edition if I dont have it? help

Gifts show up there, as well. It will say whether or not it's deluxe. Also I would imagine you can't download the deluxe items yet, since the game isn't out.

I haven't bought it. But other games with different editions show up differently on my purchase/gift history. For example, I own both DS2 and the Scholar version, they show up differently. Maybe you don't have it yet because it's a preorder? I've never preordered on Steam so now I'm wondering, myself.
