Due to recent events, I find his inclusion in the game and the nature of the character depicted extremely insulting. I feel that if things are not conclusively settled with the Indieland scandal, Sabotage Studio needs to remove him from the game and make a apology statement to their customers for their participation in this alleged charity fraud.

Jirad is a certified horrible person,
But chtrst a lot of people in this thread were being unhinged obsessive people,
Acting as if a poorly aged Cameo means these devs were somehow in on everything and they shouldn't be supported or etc.
The Open Hand scam situation certianly wasn't some petty youtube drama, it was an outright 10 year long crime, but a lot of people here are plain terminally obsessive and treating it as drama to fling and accuse every possible direction.

Regardless, I hope this game can continue to go strong and that the replacement Bob NPC can avoid any aged like milk painful vibes for future players.
I've had this game on my wishlist for a while but forgot avout it, seems it's made by the Messenger developers and has very high general recception though, so that only reminds me I should buy and try out this cool game some time.

I get the point of removing Jirard from the game, but can't you make it an option to keep him or not? I know about what happened and I do feel like it's a horrible situation. However, he did help Sabotage Studio a whole lot with his very vocal support and on many instances where he brought up The Messenger and Sea of Stars as beacons of inspiration for indie devs/lovers. I don't think of this as a bad thing, and no matter what he did, we simply cannot erase the years of enjoying his content of our memory like nothing happened. I won't be supporting him for the time being, but what good he did should at least be given an option to stay as a character.

I also think that Sabotage Studio has nothing to apologize for. This had nothing to do with them and Jirard did support the game, either we like it or not, and it gave them a broader audience to reach for. Some of us have heard of this studio BY JIRARD HIMSELF and It makes no sense to punish Sabotage for us to enjoying their game, and THEN ask them for forgiveness. Not only does that makes no sense, that's being completely unreasonable. What happened did happen, and there's nothing we can do about it. You can complain all you want, but the deed was done and Sabotage Studio chose to remove him. That's it, folks. That's more than enough.

Just my two cents. I know many of you might come at me with the full extent of what could be described as a few pixels worth of raging text on my screen, I just said what I thought and I don't care much about you not agreeing with me. That's up to the dev to brush my suggestion off or not.

Drifting pretty far from the topic here, but I'll address these- The Jontron stuff was massively overblown, which would be painfully obvious if you had seen the debate itself or his clarifications afterwards. His badly informed stance in a rushed debate doesn't make him a nazi or a white supremacist- these two terms are horribly overused to the point of becoming meaningless today.

It does make him an idiot for stepping into a political debate when he had no idea what he was talking about.

The last article is just tweets and isn't """anti-vax""", it looks to be rightfully criticizing Fauci for his previous work (specifically murdering puppies)?

And if the unrelated tangents to covid were against the covid vaccine (which isn't shown in this article, and I don't know JonTron's position, it just isn't in the article-- this is kind of a ♥♥♥♥ article tbh), you still have to allow for the distinction between the lunatics that live in the woods and think all vaccines were made by the devil and people who rightfully criticize the Covid vaccines as being morally bankrupt and experimental, and as time goes on, being proven correct. Anti-Vax does not describe the second group of people, and is another term that has been co-opted and overused to the point of being meaningless.

It again shows he is probably an idiot and runs his mouth about things he doesn't understand, but it doesn't make him anti-vax (unless he is, idk, just this article doesn't show ...anything useful). You should look for actual journalism in things you reference instead of nonsense like these articles though, seriously.

IDK man as a Jontron fan I was very appalled by his "get out of our country, please" talk. Because that's exactly what he was saying. I can overlook it and enjoy his stuff still but I won't overlook how bigoted he is about some things. Dude even started using black-on-black crime rates as leverage. It fits perfectly with his edgy humor in older videos "oh, look at these blacks." "his daughter's black for some reason, somebody messed up that order!" And then taking the idea of "being proud of your country" to extremes. The (right wing) host of that podcast even said he was surprised how much crazy ♥♥♥♥ Jon was saying, and that he wasn't even egging him on.

My main thing is retransmitting bad journalism and using words with actual, harsh definitions as buzzwords to the point they have no meaning whatsoever. Drives me up the wall. When our words lose their meaning all we'll be able to do is just repeat gibberish.
