So, it's stuck in a state of never getting updates now basically. 343i doesn't want to cause it's to complicated, and a fear of breaking more stuff in the campaign.
At this rate you basically have to wait for the next Halo game to come out which we know is in development as 343i confirmed they have multiple Halo projects in development.
So yea, this is it for Halo Infinite.
They laid off about 1900 staff across various companies under their umbrella I believe I read. This most likely helped boost their value up to hit that 3 Trillion dollar mark. Mind you remember they spent all those hundreds of millions on acquiring Activision Blizzard then payed out Bobby millions upon millions more to step down as CEO finally and then turned around firing their boots on the ground staff. They do this stuff all the time. Announce record profits and then cull their hard workers and give out massive bonuses to the management team. Happens in all companies, doesnt matter if they make games or chocolate biscuits, boss makes a dollar I make a dime kinda thing.
They only care about money so the best thing to do is vote with your wallet and make it clear that their most profitable path is to release completely made and well produced products in the first place. No more releasing a bare bones product with promises to flesh it out over years.
The game has been out a couple years now ... anyone who was going to buy an xbox for Halo has already done so ... why not expand the pool of paying customers?
Yep ... the thing is those are the franchises that would land big. I'd still do initial releases on xbox/pc for a couple of years, but at this point I don't see why they couldn't start. Halo MCC would be a good one as well. Imagine the money flowing in
We never did get cross-platform Campaigns for the Halos besides 3 and ODST though. And cross-platform for those is still buggy. Last weekend I tried playing with two friends - two of us on PC and the third on Xbox - and we couldn't get it to work even after scouring the forums for answers.
Just stick to MCC or custom games if you want a good Campaign.
