Clearly. Unfortunately.
......yes i feel so proud for earning 50xp, made me feel so accomplished.
Meanwhile i can go play Battlefield 2042, just go revive and armor up people all game, get no kills or sit in the back and snipe and ♥♥♥♥ around and get 15-20k XP and be halfway trough a level
When I'm at the bottom of my team's score list and contributed nothing to their success (and possibly contributed to their loss,) but get rewarded more than the top scoring player on my team because I accomplished an arbitrary challenge goal, because unlockables have been decoupled from normal progression and attached instead to said arbitrary challenges, access to which is also RNG in terms of which ones I get...
... I don't feel pride or accomplishment. I feel annoyance, frustration, and discouraged from continuing. If I'm on the other end of that stick (playing well, but being less rewarded than the challenge-chasing players ignoring objectives or teamwork) I, likewise, don't feel pride or accomplishment. I feel annoyance, frustration, and discouraged from continuing.
By contrast (as just one example,) when I played Halo 3 a lot back in the day, was top 3 in a winning match, and happened to unlock an armor that match finally because I reached a certain rank during it ... that was satisfying. Hell, even just progressing through the service record and leveling in social and ranked alike without any unlocks at all felt rewarding because it was something that happened naturally over time just by playing, in contrast to this, which while you technically gain EXP "just for playing," happens faster if you chase challenges.
Here is some wipes, now go play apex legends.
Its manipulative Negotation 101:
1: Start with a extremely bad offer favoring yourself.
2: Change the offer to less unbalanced to the other party (But still highly in your favor).
3: Other party accepts a less unbalanced deal and thinks they won something, while you keep most of the benefit in the deal.
You watch. This is what is going to happen and most people are going to eat it up.
Wait. I might have those Monster cans that had 2x XP codes on it. They actually sold them when Infinite should have released but got delayed........do those still work?
343 gonna give us 150xp per match and we're gonna EAT THAT ♥♥♥♥ UP
