One of them

In comparison to actual game content? Yeah.

I mean, I don't know about the worst. If I recall, one of Apex Legends first events alone required you to spend like, 500$ to get what was left after you unlocked everything it allowed you to unlock for free. (It might have been 800$, but I would rather undershoot my guess than overshoot it). This game hasn't been egregious enough to charge the cost of a used car for 1 event yet, but I mean, when comparing how much garbage they peddle on the shop to how little gameplay content there actually is, it is quite bad.

Its bad enough to be precedent setting, for sure. If enough people spend enough in the shop for the pitiful amount of gameplay available, other studios will take notice and games releasing with 2 hours worth of gameplay content and hundreds of $ worth of shop items will become more common.

I believe it is the worst I've seen, yes, both in terms of pricing (6, 7, 8 or even 12€ for almost nothing), content (they're already recycling previous stuff + minimal quantity of items) and ways to avoid using the store if you want (cf. Team Fortress 2 lets you craft and/or trade most existing items, or you can just pay for them.)

It's one of the worst, I'd say.

This F2P system is a big fail.

I prefered paying full price for a full multiplayer game with no store and coop mod

If you bought the campaign you actually did, it was just marketed in a way to allow the f2p BS techniques we so commonly see. The MP is touted as f2p but paying $60 for the campaign only, was a rip off.
Realistically if the MP was truly free, the campaign should have been $40 or $30.

Make a good game with good progression and charge fair prices in your store and you will succeed. Too many devs have not figured this out it seems.

yes lazy and boring cause its a free game but the money you give is real, thats all they care about.
While not the worst imo, it is by far for me the most disappointing to see, and perhaps the most brazen and blatant in the obviousness of what it's doing. Especially given what a core IP Halo is for Microsoft. It would be the equivalent of Mario Kart or a Zelda game doing this on a Nintendo platform. (Something I still fear might happen someday.)

I honestly wouldn't even care personally (since that ship has sailed and gaming as we once knew it has been consigned to a future of this kind of model going forward almost no matter what we do at this point,) if I could just ignore it and play.

But the progression system directly incentivizes playstyles that impact my enjoyment. And that progression system exists in the service of the shop. That's the problem. Not monetization in and of itself. (And that's before even getting into how restrictive customization is in the game due to their desire to sell individual colors, locked to individual armor cores, to me.)

It's all cosmetic. Try an old f2pfps from the early 2010s with completely broken p2w weapons and gear.

not the worst but then again i would never rate any as "good" i would rather pay full price and have access to everything.

It's disappointing when combined with the lack of content, but it is FAR from the worst when it comes to monetization, especially compared to some other F2P games.

The pricing and manipulative practices are beyond egregious
