Is everyone just cheating?

I understand that this game is filled with people who have endless experience, but it seems a little too good to make sense,

None of my shots register, and when they do they don't do damage, while i die in less than a second when i hear the enemy start shooting,

Is there some settings i need to change since this game is so old? is something not compatible maybe? i know im hitting,

added context: I played battlefield around when it came out and yes i check ping as i already know the outdated networking makes it unplayable at higher pings

Bad internet, there are no cheats that makes you immortal or avoid fire.

Steam discussions are often frustrating because i thought it should have been obvious its not my internet

high ping + low hz server = bad time, play on servers close to you that have at least 60hz, also at peak hours the hitreg can be ass if there's a lot of high ping players playing

nah, cheaters get banned. servers are community owned so admins are active and reports get listened to. Players are good, i have 300 hours on steam but across ps3, ps4, and PC altogether i have about 3k hours and i assume anyone playing still from the past has around the same overall. i dont even play much either, just hop on here and there to make sure im not getting old

I got it for 5 bucks & came across 2 dudes using a russian tank & they had hacks where they knew where everyone was. It's a old game & it's battlefield so hackers will always plague it esp since the anti cheat isn't updated anymore

Battlefield 4 punishes you big time when you hold WASD as you fire your weapon, so make sure you're not holding WASD at all when you shoot. lower your sensitivity in the config file to a number that feels right for you, probably most of the time you're not on target
