Just installed bf4, and initial controller settings are incorrect. (with/without steam input)

Im using a known fully functioning PS3 controller with the recommended bf4 steam input template. In game only one analog stick works, key bindings are.. All jacked up.
Following google search advice hasn't helped and couldn't find anything helpful here either.

Hence the post.
I think my only option is to manually rebind everything in game for "on foot" "vehicle" "aircraft", etc.
Which would be really lame to have to deal with on every PC I Install this on (I have 3 comps i may install this on. old pc, new pc, laptop. I like to compare, and have flexibility)

Hopefully that fixes the "double action" i'm experiencing. On some buttons where erroneous multiple bindings per button are present.

Also if the answer is to manually rebind everything. I am genuinely curious as to why that is, technically in spite of there being an official bf4 template .if anyone has insight.

Also i am open to the fact that i may have missed something simple due to poor comprehension.

Okay, so i got the controller working by re-enabling ea app overlay.
But now my mouse isn't working properly at all ( difficult to move and when it does it makes huge/unpredictable jumps) only while the controller is plugged in.

For me an FPS with vehicles is best played with keyboard/mouse & Controller simultaneously.
(keyboard/mouse for on foot FPS action and controller in my lap ready for any vehicles)

I use a controller with the xbox buttons layout and the key bindings were "correct", just don't know how to disable aim assist in Campaign mode

im having the same issues with the DS4 controller. i think the problem is it only supports xbox controller.
No matter what i do in steam controller settings the game doesnt listen.
Neither does the big picture mode controller pop up work during gameplay.

Thanks for your replies. I didn't think to try an xbox controller, however i uninstalled the game due to issues with that dumpster fire they call ea app. I will be returning to bf3 on ps3 now.
