Usually major holidays and minor holidays warrant sales. Special events they do, but those are hardly announced and instead just pushed out. Currently I agree that the game isn't exactly worth the price. I'll explain why.

The game is still fantastic, even though the campaign is basically a glorified tutorial riddled with bugs and horrible AI teammates. The only problem with it in it's current state is the fact they still force you to PAY TO HOST SERVERS, which greatly limits the servers you can join and especially the game modes, locking you out of completing Assignments.

On the subject of current server hosts, a lot of them pad their numbers with fake players to look full so you'll try to join it before it essentially "fills up" which is a cheap trick to get players to join your server en mass. Use Battlelog to accurately tell which servers are faking and which ones are true to their player count.

Apart from that, the servers you do get into, I've had nothing but a good time, but I think it's time DICE just allowed us to host our own servers while they focus on 2042, because that's the only BF they have their eyes on at the moment.

just get a key from g 2 a or somewhere, i always do that, especially now you will find it for super cheap. keep in my mind they might only have origin keys since it came out on steam recently but you can still play with your friends when you join the same server

There's also EA play pro which is 15$ a month ( dont know how much for a year but it gets you access to 2042
