BF4 is ancient trash.

I got this game for cheap, so nothing gained or lost. I always wondered what BF4 was about. It's old that is for sure. Everything is more clunky than BF1 and BFV. BF1 is such a superior experience to me with a controller that I find this only playable with a mouse here.

It has a lot of the sighting issues that BFV does, but the guns are all over the place with recoil and muzzle blast, yet the fast TTK clearly separates a few of them with less recoil. The game was clearly designed for mouse, as controller values cannot even manipulate acceleration rates at all. It's pitiful, and the TTK is at times like a COD game. The class structure is not really all that fun or balanced, and there is too much of everything for any new player coming in clean.

I can see why some people like this. A couple of the maps are cool, it probably is more fun with premades of friends, but to me this is one of those games that needs a full remaster or something. I absolutely suck at infantry with no scope options, yet I find the leveling up to get scopes through battlepacks and whatever else to be tedious beyond belief. I am very good at BF games in general, and I am sure it will be fine if I keep on. Tanks especially are easy KDR magnets. But the on foot stuff just doesn't sell me. The animations are incredibly basic and make fighting awkward. The amount of things that can one hit kill you basically is endless, and maps are quite open outside of a few of the best ones.

Just selecting a class and toggling different weapons in this game is an ultimate chore. It takes forever, and if you are new to the game, you might as well be reading the bible. The spawn out screen sucks, the colors are muted and weird, and overall it was fun experiencing the maps for a time or two, but I think this one goes into the closet for good after a round or two through Conquest. The servers also feel pretty weird not being on officials. Hard to say, but lag is a problem at times despite the high tickrates.

Oh well I guess. The BF1 vs BF4 player bases are pretty polemic, but I am firmly in the BF1 camp. Hoping 2042 is a mixture of BFV and BF1. Not this at all. Please god no.

I won't read through every comment here, however I will just say that if you don't like BF4, try BF1. BF4 by comparison is quite hardcore and has a far higher percentage of dedicated vets that will whoop your bum. Not saying BF1 doesn't have players with thousands of hours, but those are way better diluted in the general chaos and carnage that is BF1.

Crunch time happens when publishers abuse their developers with strict short deadlines.

Multiple COD games have actually had high TTK. This feels pretty fast to the point it's definitely not out of COD league to me. Not even close really. The amount of times I am just basically one shotted across the map or near is pretty close to BFV. Just saying that is not out of COD range. It's not hitscan, but with a scope and proper setup TTK is pretty fast.

The fact that you stated the gun gameplay is same as COD is quite telling. COD guns shoot like laser guided lasers, BF4 gunplay is far less forgiving. Far more recoil. You seem to be on a hate train, or just bored. Fine, just move on. People do like the game. In fact there are currently over 16,800 players online.

The game is five bucks. They generally see a small resurgence, and it then it goes to nothing again.

It's at around 12K at Steam. BF1 was hitting 40K when it was 5, and now it's out of the top 100. Decent numbers though. I'll probably play a few more rounds here or there again.

But I'm not bad in tanks at all. All it takes is a couple tank rounds and my KDR will be around 2 lol. I'm BAD with infantry guns outside shotguns, because of the issues listed. That doesn't mean I am a bad player. My KDR and rankings are always in the top 20% at least in BF communities. I main on Playstation. My tanking skills in BF1 and BFV are elite. And this is playing solo queue lol.

With a team of medics, my KDR in BF1 and BFV is in the top 10,000 players. There are portions of deathmatch in those games where I am not even killed for sure. Premades vs solo queue is a huge problem in BF4 servers, as most of this fanbase still on the game is far beyond me.

So it's not really fair to say I am bad like I am some random, new to BF games. That isn't the case at all. I haven't gotten around to a 2x scope, but if that doesn't work well I might be bad at the PC version of this game as infantry minus shotguns. That is what you should be saying.

My KDR with shotguns is so far around 2.5 in BF4. But I still can't get proper aim because there are no acceleration options for controller. So it's janky as heck no matter what at least a bit.

With other guns atm it is terrible of course, but I did consult a guide.

Nobody here has even mentioned what gun, scope, or anything else would help. You all keep saying get good, but you have no advice for anyone in my situation playing with a controller with non-optimal options due to the game's age.

KDR is not indicative of skill, and sitting in the back of the map tank hogging the entire game and going 10-0 isn't impressive at all. Also BF1 and BFV have hoards of clueless players compared to BF4, so obviously farming in TDM and tanks is leagues easier

Play on console or adapt to keyboard and mouse, there is no "solution" to this.

No gun, scope or attachment will help you magically get good, you must get good. Weapons and attachments are situational, you must learn what is best in what scenario. Crying on the forums demanding for what gun scope and attachment to use isn't doing anything useful

My advice for your controller habits on BF4 are either A. play on console B. Learn to play with mouse and keyboard, you've already been typing multiple essays, so clearly you know how to use it C. Don't play at all preferably
