I've tried playing using both modes but is still pretty much the same thing, although, much worse on DX12 as you mentioned because of the shader compilation thing.
Idk man, this didn't use to be a thing for me and it only happens on BF1 and BFV, it actually freezes more on BF1 than on BFV which doesn't even make any sense.
I'll wait until there's some new update for the anticheat, i love these games too much to just abandon them.
I bought this ryzen upgrade kit and the game was running fine until recent anticheat updates.
The cpu usage is usually 50% to 64% but suddenly hits 100%, freezing the game while there's nothing really happening during gameplay, so i'd assume is not the game but the anticheat.
Again, that really can't be solely the CPU's fault as it should be perfectly capable of running the game smoothly since BFV recommends a ryzen 3 1300x while i have a ryzen 3 4100 which is 37% faster.
Also, i do have optimized my windows 10, so there's no background apps or bloatware that would suddenly ask that much from my cpu.
if you wonder what i use to see the system stats, i have one of these (£20 on eBay): https://www.turzx.com/
The solution will be an upgrade of my CPU, i'm planning on getting a ryzen 7 5700x3D, but i just feel like not playing it anymore, but still, thank you for trying to help!
16gb (2 sticks of 8gb) on my end is just fine, it doesn't really reach 13gb of usage. It is 100% the CPU as i've mentioned.
After uninstalling the new version of it, the freezes and sudden FPS drops simply disappeared (atleast the FPS drop is gone on BF1, still happens a bit on BFV but still playable).
Just like i've said, it seemed more like an issue with 4 cores and 8 threads CPU or lower, which does seems to be the case but on my end, disabling the Nvidia APP and its overlay was the fix.
To be more precise, the issue is the filter mode and photo mode, which weren't even being used but if disabled, you could still use the nvidia app without having this problem.
