ERROR ON EA APP LAUNCHS
[SOLVED] Error on EA App Launch
After months searching for a solution for the launching problems that appeared after the mandatory migration from Origin to EA App, finally a conclusion.

I believe that this solve the 2 most common errors while trying to launch the game - "You don't have access" and "Error on our end". Without further ado:

1. Type "RegEdit" on your search bar (without the quotation marks, obviously);
2. Open "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE";
3. Open "SOFTWARE";
4. Locate and open the "EA Games" folder;
5. Open the Battlefield V folder;
6. At this point you should have some register entries on the right side, one of them is the "Install Dir", double click on it;
7. Now you just need to paste the path where your Battlefield V is installed, seems like the EA App is not able to map that directory for itself;
8. Close the Register Editor and it should do the trick.

That worked for me (forget the "downloading Apex" stuff or unlinking your EA account to Steam and linking a new one - I've done that and all I have now is an empty multiplayer progress, and I can only relink my original account in 6 months).

Let me know if this worked for you, found it on the EA discussions, can't remember the author of the solution, I'm just spreading the word.

I have followed the prescribed method above carefully, as well as reinistalled my game twice and even my EA app twice and repeated these steps again but it still doesn't work :/ I wonder why this is? I am glad this method works for most of you but it really bums me out that it isn't working for me

Try this.

It fixed all my games in the EA App that would not launch. It also fixed it when all games were blacked out and could not see my library.

This method that worked for me a few days ago, has stopped working.

I even retried it tonight a few times, but it will not get my games with issues to start.
I am back to having lost six of my games on EA.
I think the problem is that when I hit Clear Cache, the EA App closes and restarts. It doesn't allow me time to to close EA Background Service, between the EA App closing and restarting. Whereas before it must have closed completely, allowing me time to end EA Background Service.
To be honest I am lost at this point.

I also tried the fix from post 1 in this thread.
However that doesn't work. I guess because the directory path is already correct.

Mine shows as:
F:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield V\

I tried to remove the \ at the end in RegEdit so it looked like:
F:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield V
but it still doesn't work.

Am I missing something? Am I supposed to have the installer address looking like:
F:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield V\__Installer

I tried this, and caused a game repair repair. Now RegEdit is automatically reverted back to:
F:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield V\

I found my fix.

I paused my VPN and Battlefield V launches.

(Strange considering that I have all EA App executables bypassing VPN. Plus the Battlefield V .exe bypassing VPN too. ... Anyway.)

I was having trouble with seven games in total.
Five crashed to desktop on launch.
Two Need for Speed games would not connect to servers.

Pausing VPN fixed all seven games.

Secondly, the fix I mentioned above and in a thread I started, about clearing cache, fixed another problem I had.
(https://steamcommunity.com/app/1238810/discussions/0/3809534228668032460/)
All my games on the EA App were blacked out, and totally unable to even try to launch.

I found this problem a few days ago. Cleared cache in the EA App, and while the EA App was closed ended EA Background Service.
(Oddly if you try clearing EA App cache without this problem, the EA App immediately restarts. Not allowing you to close EA Background Service.)

Anyway, between what I have found, and the OP of this thread, there's good fixes. Hope everyone gets their game running.

I saw it written on here that deleting the Battlefield V documents directory would fix the issue.

I did this, but something was preventing me from deleting all files in the folder. So I had to open my OneDrive app, THEN deleted the Battlefield V Directory and suddenly after weeks of not launching, the game finally launched! Seems like it was a OneDrive issue this whole time?? :D
It does seem to reset your single player progress though, and your settings, but I think this can be fixed by validating your BFV files through Steam.

Let me know if this worked :D

Hey everyone, i found out that my onedrive stores gamefiles even after i uninstall a game. So try removing your BFV files from onedrive. Worked for me.

BUT, if you don't have Install Dir than you should do right click - new - string value - name it "Install Dir" and then open it by double click :) In "Value Data" add the location where the game is installed. Mine is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield V and then click OK that's it .

what does paste the path mean? how do I do that?
