It does not guarantee less cheaters but it does guarantee no Linux support, thanks for nothing EA, bet not even the campaign will work now..
Edit: RIP Windows 7/8 and older versions of 10 too.

Glad that the majority of ppl will benefit this. But if they would care the slightest bit about their users, they would provide/support a solution for the linux user too... But they dont. It is only about the money.

If they were not to implement a better anti-cheat, they would lose money too quickly.

I am surprised they actually did it considering they ended support for this game years ago but I guess its suddenly good now and still selling well just bc of 2042 even tho everyone hated it before? Just play BF1/4/3..
They never claimed linux support ever. Trash company but you can't blame them for something like that.

I mean if you wanna look at it like that sure, but it did work and now they're gonna break it and leave it broken. Not cool, Apex enabled it, wonder if they're gonna switch it over will they bother to make their AC compatible, probably not.

Yup, counting the minutes since their post, if this works, its gonna be the best Battlefield game since the original . . .

I'm very happy for you guys but I have to request a refund because It doesn't play on my OS anymore because of the anti-cheat. Hope you have good games with no cheater in it. Maybe I'll be able to join you in the future if they enable me to play!
Do you really think this will make the game safe? Because I guarantee you that the new AC won't stop chinese cheaters from ruining your games because private premium cheats are really hard to detect even for kernel type AC. It won't change much.

Yeah people are definitely overhyping this, might help a bit but thats about it, wouldn't expect anything significant.

1. who the hell plays on linux
2. just use windows 10 or 11 already
Considering 2042 already uses EA-AC, and it's had a massive influx of cheaters since the new AC was installed...

Also think about this:
If it is kernel level access, which is deeper than the OS kernel; and a hacker gets around this, possibly by remote modifying code on the server or on client connections; could they just get rootkit access to everyone who uses said anti-cheat.
Much more insidious than the recent Apex client side hack.

Game companies making open vectors tunneled in many home computers (and work computers as well) where people have sensitive data; say on not just their finances but possibly their company as well if they Work From Home post (Voldemort-18+1);
making malicious group salivate with lust for that delicious IP.

Also explains a lot of the recent IP leaks from tech companies (see Intel and AMD as great examples).

Nobody cares, cheater bogyman bad, company harvesting data and using cheaters as an excuse to justify it good
