This campaign is basically faking history and suggesting that Allies where war criminals and germans were complety innocent pilots that totally don't wanted to annihilate any race that wasn't Aryan.

Just imagine that instead of the WW2 you know:
-Hitler never came to power
-The Soviet Union either never entered the war or was defeated early on
-The war didn't end in 1945, it is the late 1940s in the game, the entire timeline of the war was stretched out
-Manpower shortages mean women and minorities have been pressed into frontline service
-Material shortages mean WW1 and interwar weapons are now normal to see on the front late war
-Due to the stress of combat nobody swears or says no-no phrases anymore without saying "juh" right before

To be honest, it's sounds like more peaceful version of ww2, and maybe I ever would prefer this version in real life, but still, I just can't get myself to think that this is supposed to be ww2

Nazis wanted to do all that. Not all Germans were Nazis and not all Nazis were german.

A bunch of german soldiers were forcibly conscripted (As in, forced to serve), patriotic for their country, thought the war would be exciting and life changing, or any number of other reasons.

You do know that many innocent german civilians were executed in WW2 as well, right? That the Allies would often execute German soldiers that surrendered because they didn't have enough space to properly imprison them.

Everyone was committing war crimes, but many of the people on the battlefield were just that.. people.

That campaign isn't faking history, it's just showing that most germans didn't want to really fight in the war. That they were actual people and not just all Arm Raising genocidal maniacs.

You have the option of fighting for your country, or you and your family are sent to camps where you will most likely never see each other again. That was often the the choice that germans were faced with. Talk about never opening a history book.. sheesh..
