Ration seals worked back in august 2021, i could use the ration seals my scavenger bots brought back, and buy mk3 stuff, and get resources. Now... i have ration seals but no way to spend them.
It's Origin problem.
There are many fixes, but this one works for the most.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Remove EA Origin from startup, and close the app, if it's open.
2. Download the EA App for Windows Beta at https://www.ea.com/ea-app-beta install it, and login (This step may require Windows 8.1, or newer)
3. Go to the game's install folder (typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead Space 3), find deadspace3, (or deadspace3.exe if you have file extensions on), right-click > Send to > Desktop (Create shortcut)
4. With the EA Beta running, launch the game from the newly created shortcut, and enjoy spending your ration seals.
Note: You do not have to close Steam, but you cannot use Steam to launch the game, or you will encounter an error.
It had previously worked in august of 2021, in origin thin(steam purchase bought through origin but launched through origin thin client through steam), full clients(bought through origin and launched through origin full client).
Thanks for the guide, i had followed through with that, and it did NOT work the same way as described, given i bought through steam and steam required the thin client to launch. When i launch through the EA Beta client and not steams thin client or Origins Full install, it worked the way as described.
Some players had this problem for years. This problem has been since late 2015 or earlier. And just recently it became global.
I am sorry, but I don't understand. First you say it did not work as described, then it does work.
Description says, not to launch via Steam, but with EA app open and Origin closed, launch via shortcut on desktop. That is what you did, no? (might work without shortcut, don't know).
Thin = Thing? "Thin - having little, or too little, flesh or fat on the body."
The only problem is co-op. Since you can play coop only via Origin, you have to purchase packs on your own, and not when playing with someone.
This method was working for me as recently as last week. Went ahead to unlock most of the achievements, and now EABeta is not letting me see the resource pack screen. I know origin is off, since the shortcut doesn't work and there's no FPS counter as I have enabled on Origin, ditto for steam. Don't know what could have changed unless it was on EA's end
No I'm saying I tried everything nothing has worked unless I explicitly launch the game manually after ea beta is running with origin, Steam, and origin thin are not running.
Somethings definitely changed as my steam backup and origin full backup of the game have a few byte difference with zero compression.
When I restore my backup and don't take the update, online works fine, and the games ration seals work as well. So I have to 100% say with confidence that they changed it in the game. Why else would the stuff disappear from being updated but rolling back to Jan 2021 backup I have from steam bring back the ration seals with out ea beta?
Why would my March 2020 origin full backup when restored have ration seals?
You know if Origin is off, by checking Task Manager.
Probably some other fixes should be included in the case.
If it's a on EA end, it's for everyone, not just some.
