Great universe, characters and adventure, the main story is less fulfilling than the original trilogy but the world is much broader and the gameplay more open. I would position it more like a Mass Effect Story: play the original trilogy first than this one if you like the Mass Effect universe.

With the Asari Mod inplace this game is great i loved it almost as much as the oriiginal just because bioware took their IP and changed it keeping a lot of the stuff that made it great people might not like this opinion but i love this game. it deserved more love in its hay day and for 9$ couldnt pass it up

A step down in quality over the original trilogy, the game starts off slow and boring, but it gets a bit better. The writing is not great. The combat is quite decent, Multiplayer is of acceptable quality although I still prefer ME3. Overall yes I do recommend this game as long as you know what you’re in for. It’s not like the original trilogy but it has some good aspects that make it redeemable.

It frequently goes on sale at 80% off, I recommend this game on the sale price. Otherwise wait.

Cannot comprehend: how it is even possible to pull out such a monstrosity of a game

First time playing in 2025, and it is a good game. I'd recommend picking up when on a deep discount.

Sad that there is no official sequel for Mass Effect Andromeda, and I didn't feel vested to keep playing more of the side quests, care too much about the decisions made, or check out all the content. I wish I could tell you the true amount of time I spent in this game because what is shown was by accident by just leaving the game on idle while away or busy.

Mass Effect Andromeda is actually a great game. The Story is interesting and so are the new species introduced. There are also a few little easter eggs(?) that connect to the Mass Effect Trilogy which adds a nice touch. The movement is different but when you get used to it it's very fun.
As a game by itself it takes a bit to get into but once you're in, it's very interesting to see how the colonists from the Milky Way try to estabkish themselves in a comoletely new galaxy.

If you like a good story, well-written characters, open exploration of worlds, puzzles and more, Andromeda is something for you.

TLDR: Bought for 6€. Good game, disappointing Mass Effect. Buy it on sale.

Not really sure how I feel about ME:A. The game has its highs, but also some unsettling lows. It feels like the entire development process lacked proper quality management and beta testing.
On one hand, the artistic direction is well executed, landscapes are gorgeous, the scenery is amazing and it really captures that sense of discovery.
On the other hand, the facial animations are odd, sometimes even uncanny. Overall animations are decent but nothing groundbreaking. The writing is "okay-ish" at best, it often fails to convey genuine emotion.
Many missions feel like generic MMORPG filler, offering little in the way of meaningful lore or satisfying rewards.
The pacing of the cutscenes feels odd and rushed, which also contributes to the lack of emotional impact.

Branching storylines are almost nonexistent, and the choices you make have little to no impact on the narrative. While it feels like the game sets up many opportunities for decisions to have consequences in a potential ME:A 2, it completely lacks meaningful consequences within this game itself. In comparison, ME:1, while also laying the groundwork for its sequels, still featured (sometimes harsh) consequences that played out within the first game.
Your codex keeps track of your choices and updates accordingly, which was a nice touch tho.

The karma (Paragon/Renegade) system is completely abandoned in this game, replaced with a different approach. It offers you four different types of responses based on psychological tones: Emotional/Logical/Casual and Professional. At first glance, this seems like a much better and more nuanced approach than the outdated "Good/Bad" system.
One of the few things that always bothered me in the old ME games was how Shepard had to behave. Almost as if a "good person" could never make a harsh or morally questionable choice. The game wouldn't reward you for these choices because the personality checks were locked behind the skill tree.

Unfortunately, despite the diversity in responses, the game almost always leads to the same outcomes. I really wish this part of the game had more depth because the initial concept seemed like a step in the right direction

I really liked the spin-off concept, and following a new team was overall an enjoyable experience. It felt like I was watching old Star Trek or Stargate SG-1.

The music and sound effects are really well done and help make the game feel truly massive.

The gameplay is where the game truly shines. While movement has some inertia, your Ryder (the protagonist) is equipped with a jetpack that allows you to jump high, hover, and dash in a very stylish way. Combat is responsive and aggressive, making fights feel dynamic and engaging.

The skill tree is highly flexible, allowing you to mix and match multiple playstyles, completely abandoning the old Mass Effect system that locked you into a fixed "role". No more being stuck as just a Biotic, Soldier, or Tech specialist for the entire game. It's up to you to shape your Ryder however you want, and it genuinely feels great
On a side note, you have absolutely no control over your squadmates beyond basic commands like "attack this", "take this position" or "follow me".

In conclusion, I bought this game for 6€, many years after its release (and after it was patched and modded to fix many issues), so I don't rate it as a newly released game sold at 60€.
The game is enjoyable as it is. If you dive in expecting a true Mass Effect experience, you will be disappointed. However, if you're willing to play it for what it is and not as a "sequel", then I can recommend buying it on sale.

Only reason i recommend this games is because of Gameplay and environment.

Game is really beautiful.
Gameplay feels right but lack of commanding teammates is a big downgrade and powers doesnt feel as powerful.
Concept is really good.

Story is alright.
Characters including you own teammates doesnt feel important. In lot of the choices i dont care about these people enough to worry about who gets to live. most of the choices are me making logical instead of feeling conflicted if i should choose logical choice or emotional choice (ofc game puts you in those scenarios but you just dont feel like you are in one).
and yeah those ugly face models i tried to make a decent face failed and stick to default faces.


Overall a good game with very poor writing. If you want to enjoy gameplay def try it. but if are expecting a mass effect this is going to disappoint you.

like all games this one has its ups and downs. I believe there are too many side missions right off the rip, but take your time enjoy the game. You can get to those later if you want.

great game. just now needs more mods updates or DLC's adding maybe explore Maridian's secrets and history and more planets or galaxies????........
