This does not work for me, unfortunately.
Go to Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop (it usually has 2 folders, one called outdatedEADesktop - you don't need that one).
Right click EADesktop.exe, choose Compatibility tab, check "Run this program as Administrator" press Apply and Ok.
In NVIDIA Control Panel
Manage 3D Settings - Program Settings - add MassEffectAndromeda.exe from game folder location.
Monitor technology - Fixed Refresh, Preferred refresh rate - Application-controlled, Vertical sync - Fast.
Right click the game in Library, choose General tab, down in the LAUNCH OPTIONS type
-dx11
You can just copy it there.
Unfortunately, none of these fixes worked for me. Thank you for trying, however.
I've tried this and it didn't work
What made it work for me was:
!. Uninstalled MEA on Steam.
2. Deleted all remaining mod-files.
3. Reinstalled MEA on Steam.
4. Reinstalled and applied all mods.
5. Updated the EA App (downloaded it from EA website and repaired the installation).
6. Opened Mod app, Steam and EA App.
7. Started MEA from Steam.
8. Watched EA App do its things, waited for a minute or two, and finally got to play.
Just out of curiosity... by any chance are you running Windows 11 OS with the "24h2" update/patch installed[learn.microsoft.com]?
There is something wrong with the EA app. When I try to launch the game from the exe file located in the program files, it opens up the EA app and tells me this game is not installed.
They previously integrated Origin with Steam but when they gave up on Origin and switched to the EA app, they obviously made things worse and introduced new errors.
I should note that I actually bought this game before on Origin (I picked up the Steam version because I find the Steam UI easier to work with) and then it worked fine.
So, first things first.
Make sure you have EA App installed and that it is updated and running, before starting MEA on Steam, and after launching the game from Steam, check the EA App to see if it wants to do something with the game before it actually launches.
If that does not work then:
!. Uninstall MEA on Steam.
2. Delete all remaining files and mods.
3. Reinstall MEA on Steam.
4. Reinstall and apply mods.
5. Update the EA App (download it from EA website and repair the installation). This is important because the App seems to fail to update itself properly in any other way.
6. Open Mod app, Steam and EA App.
7. Start MEA from Steam.
8. Watch EA App do its things (can take a while, like a minute or two or more)
9. The game should now start and its status on the EA App should be "accessed through Steam"
Hopefully this helps.
