maybe you will have better luck.
Thank you, i am thinking in particular of the MEA Fixpack on Nexus for the bug fixes but don't really want to lose out on steam achievements (seeing as they were only recently added).
What mod manager do you use for Andromeda? I tend to use Mod Organiser for my modded games but haven't tried Vortex for a long time.
Edit: Just seen on Nexus that it uses Frosty Mod Manager but i've never heard of it.
Just found out i can use Frosty for Dragon Age:Inquisition too which is nice.
easy to use, and has a good ui, not mention it saves your mod profile, so you can just click and play.
(im not 100% sure if it was origin, it's just it only stopped working after that update, and sims mods have known to break upon some client updates)
I do like a good mod manager.
Hopefully there will be a patch soon to fix it, fingers crossed.
I think i will just get the game on Origin as it requires it anyway and i have a few games there.
As long as i can get Frosty working with Origin that is!
Shame there are no achievements on Origin.
Edit: from looking around i have found them listed but they just do not appear on the store page pre-purchase.
actually there are origin achievements, this is where the new EA steam achievements update came from (they ported them over)
i just like most of my games on steam for the easy of access to forums, community hub etc. I personally find the other launchers lacking in what steam has overall.
I also have a large gog library but most of that is games unavailable anywhere else.
You are right about the achievements though, thanks for the help.
and no problem, good luck!
EDIT: it seems swapping my game to another drive fixed it. must have been the origin update failing to detect the steam file or something to do with how the mod manager connects to the game via ini.
Glad you fixed it, i am about to see if it works for me.
Thanks, that helps!
I go to launch MEA via frosty and it simply loads origin and sits there doing nothing else.
I have looked up this issue and the solutions suggested are:
Run frosty as admin (same issue)
upgrade visual c++ (already up to date)
disable AV and firewall (didn't do this but i allowed MEA through firewall)
clean boot (will try this next)
move game to system drive (not an option for me currently)
delete the bcrypt.dll file and ModData folder in the game install directory (did this and the bcrypt.dll doesn't exist for me anyway)
reinstall frosty (this didn't work either)
I will keep digging and post back here if something works.
Edit: downloaded bcrypt.dll from Nexus mods and placed it in the frosty third party folder and MEA install location but still the same problem.
the only thing that worked for me was the drive swap.
bcrypt is created on launch each time of the program i think it's mean to be deleted.
i tried everything listed as well. firewall is usually the only thing that blocks things like this anyway.
the only thing i can suggest other than the drive swap is -did you try an older version of the mod manager?
i believe an earlier version worked for some.
Definitely a last resort.
I read that somewhere too, i will try an older version.
I am thinking of just forgetting about the bug fixes and playing Vanilla anyway lol
Edit: tried the previous version but no dice, same issue.
I will keep looking and hoping for a patch for either FMM or Origin but run vanilla in the meantime.
what fix was it for? like a community patch?
