Daddy issues at BioWare? That was actually noticed. So much so that while Miranda's Megalomaniac parent should have been a mother, the chose to make it a father instead. Now you are understanding that people's biases and agendas make it into the game. And the game isn't better for it, when that happens. These modern "advising" companies have known agendas. And it has caused many games to fail.
People talk about bad writing. "It wasn't a woke problem. It was just bad writing." They refuse to see that the woke was the cause of the bad writing.
Like EVERY character has daddy issues. Not just Miranda. I really don't believe there's an agenda behind it, to clarify. I find it hilarious. The writers were even self-aware enough to poke fun at it. And yeah man, bad writing happens all the time. Watch some Redlettermedia, if you haven't. You don't need political hype words to explain why something is bad.
Bad writing happens more often now, due to woke. You don't have to like that fact, but it is a fact. Just amazes me how determined the defenders of woke are.
Keep your idiotic culture wars in church.
I don't get my facts from message boards. There are libraries and repositories of scientific, peer reviewed journals that exist to find facts. Bastions of truth in a world of increasing disinformation.
I would love to see you bring your ideas for bad writing into a college level creative writing course. You could audit a class for free. If you ever decide to, please record it for posterity.
You first. You started it. LOL
The consumers decide what bad writing is. A college professor may think something is amazing, and it may be on a technical level, but if the audience doesn't like it, it's not going to be a commercial success. Like it or not, woke injection into modern media is causing a lot of it to fail. Once again, you don't have to like that fact, or agree with that fact, but it's a fact. The people are speaking with their wallets. The more you force it on them, the more they close their wallets. Their message is loud and clear. You get a seat at the table, but you don't get to make the table about you.
I will reiterate one final time. Do not get your facts from the internet. Go to a library. Crack open some scientific journals. They are peer reviewed. It's as close to knowing the truth on a subject as you can get.
What do peer reviewed studies in a library have to say about the failure of Bud Light? Target? Rings of Power? The ratio that Naughty Dog's new trailer got on every channel it was on? Can you give me a 1 page summary, double spaced, with citations?
I will say this: you are quite lost in the sauce.
The feeling is mutual. I sit back, and look at the fact objectively. I see Bud Light get cancelled. I see Veilguard crash and burn. I see Naughty Dog's trailer get ratio'd. I sadly saw Mass Effect Andromeda fail, thus getting DLC and sequels canceled. I sit back and look at these things objectively. I listen to people say why they aren't buying particular games. I listen to them talk about what they do and don't like. Then I speak on these things. I don't get emotional about it. Not true for so many others, who seemingly feel attacked because most gamers don't like the direction of modern western game development.
So let's do a little test to see who is lost in the sauce. Would you say that most gamers like the direction that western game studios have taken, or do most gamers not like it? Do most gamers see the companies like Sweet Baby Inc as a positive influence on games, or a negative? I'm not asking you what YOU think or feel or like. I'm asking you where you think the majority of gamers stand on these issues I've asked you about.
If you are on drugs, please stop. If you're not on drugs, please start.
Was that supposed to be witty?
It was supposed to be advice. I'd challenge you to a battle of wits, but you're clearly unarmed.
